US made jeans
Last edited Sat Nov 24, 2012, 12:25 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

Yesterday, got no idea how, I tore my made abroad, they used to last levys.

Thanks to Omaha Steve, I found US made. So just ordered a replacement

http://www.gussetclothing.com/

Will let you know how good they are. But these guys had the style I like in the size I need. Best part, yup, a tad more expensive, but they are providing jobs to Americans. 3

"made", "levys"?

I just went to the company website. I can buy multiple pairs of Wranglers for the price of one pair of their jeans. And the Wranglers probably last longer.

When I was in school I wouldn't buy any thing but Levi jeans. When I started working for a living the Levis just wouldn't last. Our neighbor at the time only wore Wranglers. He did calf roping in the rodeo and said that Wranglers were the only jeans that would hold up to him sliding in and out of the saddle. I bought a pair and have been buying them ever since.

Diamond Gusset advertises on conservative talk radio.

Nads isn't very good at this 'boycott' thing.

It's hard to find jeans in size 56-20.

Wait, are these the ones Glenn Beck talked about? That would be priceless, the  FCC ( full conservative conversion ) fairness doctrine swings into action.  Both nads and Stevie brought to the fold by denim.

I know it's Huffpo, but just a point.

But instead his experiment underscores the new truth about American-made products: The only people who can afford to buy them are the richest ones. "I am capable of it," he acknowledged, "but I don’t think it’s feasible for everyone to do this."

Why does Nadin hate the poor? :bawl:

As a side note of course being that it's huffpo we only touch on median incomes not allowing for this kind of excess with obvious conclusions being the usual liberal memes of we don't make enough bs. No points made as to why it is more expensive in the US. See I would expect to pay more for it since here we enjoy and like to pay folks for a standard of living that doesn't keep them eating crackers and peanut butter for dinner. the problem is it is not a reasonable price differentiation. I might pay 10 or 15 bucks more for a pair of jeans, but I'm not going to pay 50 or 100 bucks more. Sorry, but that's outrageous. Why don't they examine WHY US goods are more expensive?

Either way, Levis has a "Made in the USA" line; one wonders why Nadin didn't just order those? maybe the 198.00 price tag versus the 48.00 one for the brand she bought was the turn off. FYI the brand she bought is US made, but non union(why does Nadin hate unions?  :bawl:) The Made in the USA label for Levi is both supplied with union made(I believe) fabric from the Cone Mill, NC plant and holds the labeling of Levi which adds $ to the price. Hmmmmm.....

Possibly... I don't listen to Glenn Beck.  One of our local guys who is on the same national syndication network as Dennis Miller and G. Gordon Liddy (Dial Global/Westwood One) has them as an advertiser.

They aren't the same ones, but they are not union the company she bought from. They are based right out there in Tennessee in fact :-)

Is there a definition for "normal portion" on wikipedia we can refer to?

Back in high school we bought 501's (back in the 80's). They were stiff as a board and guys jeans but girls wore them too. You had to wash them a million times to shrink and soften them before you could wear them.  I would take in the bottom of the jeans to give them even more of a straight leg.

Also, my ass looked great in a pair of well worn 501's.  :-)

Duluth Trading Co. is awesome.  I'm wearing a pair of their flannel-lined jeans right now.

I still wear them when I can afford a pair or Kohl's has them on sale (usually around Christmas.)

Otherwise, I go with the Carhartts for work.  I'm not all that concerned with fashion inside the fence.

That's just plain weird.
