**** you.  Just. ****. You.  I'm not yet 50.  Here's a little CNN (by no means conservative, and a fan of all things nanny state) describing how the AVERAGE couple now pays more into the system than they'll ever get back:

As I've said before, my income is not "average", meaning I pay in far more in taxes, both federal and SS/Medicare.  And even though the CNN article says people today are getting more in Medicare benefits than they pay in, try finding a doctor today that'll take it.  And it's going to get MUCH worse.

Put it another way--I'm maxxing out on SS contribution.  I work until age 65 and I get a whopping $2267/month.  Until 70, I get $3385/month.  Sounds good, right?  Not when you consider that's a small fraction of my current income, and that this dollar figure is in 2031 dollars, not 2014 dollars.  What do you think that is going to buy in 20 years?  Beer and gas?  Maybe?

Another consideration--SS handicaps those who don't live long, which is why it's an even WORSE deal for minorities, who tend to have lower life expectancies, and hence lower (or negative) rates of return.

So take your, "I got mine" attitude and jam it up your ass.  This country loses 1000 of you, nobody will give a shit.  Lose a few of me, and you're in a world of hurt.  That's a concept you and the rest of the loopy left have yet to realize.
