YES! I like this, They cannot disrupt and take over threads all over the board and members who wish can avoid them.

What would we call such a forum? Something that would irk them, I should think.

I nominate:

I voted YES.

As long as they follow all the rules, argue with reason and intelligence, are polite even overly so and don't start spouting DUMP crap.

Anti-spelunker / Bainsbane was doing OK until she was discovered or admitted to being one of the Man Haters DUmp Denizens. Then the floodgates got opened and the DUmp dementia started gushing out.

BTW, is Karin the only CC'er, evah, to be put on an IGNORE?

You bet.  It's instructive to the less initiated to actually interact with the primitives, if they have the intellectual honesty to come over here and

...debate.

Yeah, I know, that last part is kinda funny.

I think you ultimately pegged them with "Romper Room".  Too perfect.

I voted yes but I must admit that my first instinct on knowing that a DUmmie is in our midst is to become snarky and bitchy.

The most recent DUmmie brought that out in me, but I won't apologize for being mean to her.  She deserved it.

I voted "Yes." I think it was fun when BainsBane came over here. I give her credit for doing so. I hope she's allowed back.

Here's why I think the DUmmies brave enough to post here should be allowed to do so:

1) For the entertainment value.  It was fun having Jugs on here. It was fun doing the give-and-take with her. And it inspired me to write a parody.

2) To expose the weakness of their arguments. When I wrote, "You are a Democrat, which means you are in favor of Big Government and the forced redistribution of wealth," and I explained how, and then anti-spelunker Alex responded, "The Democratic Party does not favor redistribution of wealth"--without giving any answer to my points--that revealed the paucity of their thinking.

3) To show them that we teabaggers are decent and civilized people, that we don't have horns, and that we actually have reasons for our conservatism. I think this makes it harder for them to maintain their stereotype of us.

Conservatives cannot post at DU. Liberals cannot post at FR. I appreciate a place where we can take on the libs and talk to them.

I also voted yes.

I have no desire for CC to become an echo chamber. When the occasional DUmpmonkey succeeds in rowing that leaky dinghy from Skins' Island to the mainland, it gives us all an opportunity to keep our argumentative skills sharp. They invariably cry and run away, or melt down and get themselves banned, in short order.

I also agree with our well-spoken brothers and sisters here, that our willingness to allow dissent and confront DUmmitude are two things that demonstrate our superiority to the DUmbasses.

I voted Yes. Wholeheartedly.

I think the system that we currently operate under is the best we could hope for.

1)   DUmbshits swim over from the Island to "school us" as to the errors of our eee-vil Rethuglikkkan ways.

2)   They then run face-first into the Cuissinart blades of reality; having all of their most deeply cherished political theories stripped from their loving arms, thrown to the deck, and stomped into chunky paste with the golf cleats otherwise known as facts.

3)   Shortly after this, they revert to the primitive DUmp monkies they truely are, abandoning reasoned debate for their more familiar persuasive tools of howling epithets, emotionally charged ad hominem attacks, and general all-around poo flinging.

4)   At which point our very own Simon Cowell - that's _Chris  - sweeps them off the stage toward their awaiting consolation prizes.

It's a bit of work for the admins, mostly in keeping an eye on the latest retard once the mask comes off, for when then take that fateful step over the TOS line, but it provides entertainment for those of us who mostly kick back and watch the carnage, and it also generates additional evidence for the record of how to be a progressive is to be a pathological liar, hypocrite and general low-life scumbag.

By all means, keep things as they are.

Yes.  Barring them or IP blocking when it turns out that a new poster is an incognito DUmmtard just seem too much like DU's own closed-circuit groupthink, of which we make such happy mockery.

I also don't have any problem kicking them off as soon as they start to become uncivil or excessively annoying.

I think the overwhelming point that was made was that we are NOT afraid of discussion of issues with anyone, as our arguments can withstand hurricanes. The reason they don't allow conservatives or non-screaming-yellow-zonker socialist moonbats on their site is because their own arguments cannot withstand a breeze put out by a butterfly fluttering its wings... in Brazil.

Actually, I've been thinking about the idea of a romper room.

The biggest problem I have with DUmmies having free reign is having to chase them all over the board.

I would enjoy an admin or two to chime in on how something like that might look.
