Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

What's the over/under on Pedro's return?

I'm surprised he's been gone this long.

(I think DUmmy seabeyond was the guilty harpy in driving away Pedro.)

I remember there were three she-women angry with Atman, and that one was the redqueer.

I didn't pay as close attention as I should've.

RedQueen and the feminists at DU are blind to true sexism.

True sexism is a democrat telling women about to get raped that they are not trusted to defend themselves with a gun. Women are too emotional, and will fire at anything that moves...THAT is sexism!

Joe Biden advises women to shoot a shotgun in the air to frighten off home invaders. THAT is sexism!

Clinton cheats on his wife with anything in skirts. he RAPES Juanita Broderick. Libs give him a pass. NOW doesn't even side with Juanita...THAT is sexism!

A famous Movie Producer and liberal activist rapes a 14 year old girl. She tried to fight him off, but he overpowered her. Whoopie Goldberg doesn't even recognize it as rape. THAT is Sexism!
Liberal women just look the other way.

10. Does not realizing that it's benevolent sexism make it any less an example of benevolent sexism?

I wonder just how many men even still think and act this way.

I'd think most men would hold the door open for other men, too. I haven't really paid much attention. I do notice the shocked looks when I open the door for men, though. And some men will even refuse to go through, and insist that I go first.

The way I see it, simply not knowing the context, or not knowing it's benevolent sexism doesn't make it any less sexist.

I do agree that people should stop being defensive and just learn. We've all done many stupid things out of ignorance. The important thing is to not be resistant to information simply because your fee fees are hurt or you feel all personally insulted. That ego-serving bullshit helps no one, least of all the person deciding to become knowledge-resistant because it helps assuage their ego.

So let me get this straight. Its sexist to be polite? How the hell is opening a door for someone ego-serving bullshit? All this B.S. is, is someone justifying their $100,000 in student loans from Wellesley in Gender Studies with this unmitigated tripe. Here's a hint for you DUche, not everything is sexism. And if you want to have a door slammed in your face, come to NC and act like an idiot. We will be more than happy to oblige.

They don't think.

I would imagine a woman holding a door open is proof that the poor woman is so oppressed by her male masters that she acts like a door stop for all of society.  :-)

H^5 for making me LOL.

When I was growing up, and if I didn't hold a door for a woman/girl and my father (or mother) was anywhere near, 'benevolent sexism' had the distinct possibility of getting violent towards me.
