I'm just not convinced that the average Joe Schmuckitelli honestly gives a shit whether or not Bob and Dick get married. It's not an issue that directly confronts Joe. Granted, when it's on the ballot and it's time to confront that issue from a voting perspective, sure, Joe puts his thumb down.

But as a campaign issue? I dunno, though I certainly hope that Barry is hammered on it again and again and again.

Certainly.......the USS Faggot has sailed over the horizon some time ago.  Thirty one of fifty states have overwhelmingly banned homosexual marriage........the voters have spoken on this issue, EVERY time it has been placed before them.

Sitting on the fence until his pants ripped was his best bet for the election.......he's now just pissed of millions of voters  (Christian Democrats, particularly the Catholics that he hasn't already pissed off, religious blacks, the rednecks).......he's just put a sizable hole in his campaign vessel......if it wasn't taking a hell of a lot of water before, it certainly is now.....

The pro-gay marriage bunch were never going to vote for anyone else but him anyway.......he had everything to gain by remaining "nuanced" about it.......this decision is all downside.....no gain.....this is an act of political panic......based solely on results from a state that he not only won in 2008, but needs again in November.......he must be seeing some seriously bad internal poll numbers that are telling him that even his liberal base is eroding.

That will only go so far.  Romney and the GOP also need to hit Obama on how much worse the blacks, along with everyone else have fared under Obama.  The unemployment for blacks is still way higher than average, and that higher unemployment leads to more crime and other problems in the black communities.

It's really a safe position for him to take, he can't do anything about queer marriage anyway, it's a states issue as he said in his announcement.

A percentage point here, a percentage point there...it could matter in a very close election. If it costs him even 1.5% of the vote in Ohio, for example, that could mean something. I'm also dying to see him fight House Republicans on the defense budget, with him fighting for the automatic "sequestration." Independents are mostly pretty strong on defense (except, of course, for Ronulans).

The one thing it does do is bring a very large amount of gay money into his campaign, when it otherwise looked to be in danger of staying on the sidelines even if the gays did resignedly turn out for him.  One thing about gay households is that they do tend to have a relatively larger amount of disposable income, being as how there generally aren't any kids to raise.

True, however such a tiny fragment of the population stacked up against what Citizens United unleashed will be spit in a bucket........I doubt that all that Wall Street and corporate money is going to fall into his coffers this time.  He's having difficulty raising money even at this point in the campaign.
