Agree with Rob and sonna all you have done is prove why the issues came up with your dual modship. We have two other dual mods who don't have the need(nor are they required as is your implication) to either trash CU OR defend the distressed damsel that is CU.  Just give it up. We all know you love CU and will defend her honor to the death. We get it.  :whatever: By the same token, others are entitled to think the place is crap. It seems like a lot of wasted time on your part to keep injecting yourself into this since there will always be someone unhappy with one forum or another.

A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject.

You have a fan in your attic? I wonder how that term came about? It's fascinating.  :-)
I have fans everywhere.   :innocent:

even in the bathroom? perv! :-)

Although it would be appreciated if CC'ers focused on posting topics unrelated to CU. I'm not suggesting censoring anything, having updates and letting people know what's going on is fine. But "my board is better than your board" stuff or revisionist history? Nope. Not cool.

Amen.  What's done is done.  I was there longer than most everyone here (joined Jan., 2004), but the site is what it has become, and I'm here now with the cream of the crop (minus a few I'll miss) of what was there.  That's good enough for me.

Agreed jty. We have several members who belong to both boards and post at both with ease. I don't understand why that's so hard. If CU is everything that sonna believes it to be, then it will stand on it's own merit and require no defense. People are free to make up their minds and to post wherever they please. Membership at CC is optional and you are not required to badmouth CU or relinquish your membership there. Although it would be appreciated if CC'ers focused on posting topics unrelated to CU. I'm not suggesting censoring anything, having updates and letting people know what's going on is fine. But "my board is better than your board" stuff or revisionist history? Nope. Not cool.

I thought we were all adults?  :uhsure:

I agree.

I had a hard enough time fighting the perception that I was at CC to  cause trouble.

I do not need to be, or want to be in the middle of a board war....life is simply too short. Often I post online to escape real world drama and do not care to be in the middle of electronic drama as well.

If anyone things for a minute that there has not been people at CU asking folks to pick sides.....then I have some land for sale....

Enough said.

i agree with you but can i add a small caveat?

drama that happens organically should be left to be played out til the discussion is over. just my opinion.

trying to shut it down pisses people off and they leave and go start another board.. we've all seen that multiple times. so, other than manufactured BS like Gator was into, if a fight erupts can we just let it play out and die? my only gripe is when threads get locked down... conversations will play out naturally and eventually die.

its when they get shut down that they never come to a conclusion.. and keep erupting, usually on other boards.

I was in a rather foo-foo home once where the powder bath had a mirror floor.  As I stood there watching myself pee up, I had to ask myself "Why?".

^Totally agree Lauri! (I'll share my cape with you :-) ) I'm of the opinion that when people are treated like adults, they will act like adults. Sometimes they need a reminder is all.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

megimoo? are you from a different country than most of us here? i have tried and tried, and i just cannot figure out a lot of your posts :-)

i truly mean no disrespect... im just curious if its a cultural thing, and i just dont get the way you put together words.

my canuckistani husband often says thing i just dont flat understand.. and its mostly cause i grew up in Dallas and we just see things differently than canadians do. but that's ok.. its no fun agreeing all the time. you never get to make up :-)

No,the country is the same but Quite possibly it is a composite of life experiences and training that causes one to frame their words differently from the other .
