I have a TP shredder too.

She sticks her teeth into it.  :whatever:

Our TP unroller is the one we lost last summer. Everytime I see a fluffy black cat, I think of her. Wonder if she is still scared all the time, now that she is at the Rainbow Bridge.  :bawl:

She'll be waiting for you, Deb. :)

I know. She's with the other kitter kat girls, and my Westies. I still think about all of them.

Yrs ago we had a Gray & black tiger stripe stray cat that came around the property a couple of times, would hangout.let the kids pet him a little then would wonder on. This went on a couple of times over about a two week span. finally one day the kids fed him and he decided to adopt us as family and stayed. We named him Smokey Joe.

At the Time we had two mastiffs, basically gentle dogs but you know the deal between cats n dogs. After having Smokey Joe in the house for a couple days  my son let smokey Joe out into the back yard into the dogs domain , we watched & listened from the kitchen to see what would happen. Smokey walked off the patio into the yard and just sat there. One of the dogs noticed the cat and walked over to smokey and nudged him over a couple of times and gave a little growl. well smokey went all Bruce lee on the dog front paws smacking his snout like greased lightning then jumped on the dogs face straddling his nose biting at his ears. it took the dog a couple shakes of the head to get the cat off. Smokey flew for a couple of feet but landed on his feet and just stood there hissing at the dog. the dog advance a little like it was going to do something so smokey raised up a paw and swirled it in the air a little still hissing. the dog backed up and turned around and walked away. Ever since then smokey and the dogs got along just fine, the dogs even coming to Smokey's defense a time or two.

Smokey Joe undefeated and still the champion was with us for about 8 yrs until he succumbed to kitty cancer.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Aw, poor Joe.

I don't know how my cat is going to react to my brother's dog but he runs away from everything else and hides.  They came over last week and the cat disappeared.

The cat is spending the weekend at the vet to be neutralized and shot.  And vaccinated.

Getting him in the carrier was easy enough.  Dealing with the pee-filled crate was not. :puke:

That stuff is potent.  Riot squads should spray cat pee on hippie malcontents... it will clear them out in a hurry.

I like this vet.  It's only a couple miles from work and a straight shot from their parking lot to mine.  I ran into someone from work in the waiting room (I forgot her name.  Nobody ever forgets mine. :p)

But.....

Won't you be charged extra, and substantially so, for the weekend boarding?

My cats, I handled them like I handle myself with hospitals; in, get it done, and out as quickly as possible.

I had to keep each one there a minimum of 3-4 hours after the surgery was done, but after that, I was allowed to bring them home.

And I already knew that a cat still half-doped from anesthesia shouldn't be put around other cats, and so they each had a whole bedroom to themselves for nearly a day, until evening or something, after the operation.

They said it was $15 a day... I wasn't told anything about weekend charges.  At that price, I agreed to leave him there over the weekend so I can finish packing.  The movers are going to be here tomorrow.

Oh.

I forgot; you're moving this same weekend.

So then, probably a good idea to board the cat, lest the dog get some ideas about it.

You dropped the cat off at the vet and you're leaving town?  That's one way to give the cat a good home and get rid of it.    :-)

Oh Chris, while I am thinking about it I wanted to mention, in case you are thinking about providing something your cat is allowed to scratch and climb around on.

I spent a good deal of time on this subject myself, even to the point of ordering building plans (which I think I still have if you would like to see them).

I ended up getting a cat tree from a company called Armarkat.

This thing stands 1 hand taller then me and i'm 6 ft.

It was $129.00 from their website...

http://www.armarkat.com/

Just for added info...I don't know if you already know this or not but a little more of my two cents.

When and if you go looking for a cat tree, don't try to judge it for base stability, the cat just needs to learn how to "fly" it.

Trust me on this...it's good to have something in the house that the cat knows it is allowed to scratch the smithereens out of (well, and a squirt gun).

$129 for some lumber covered in carpet.  Wow.

Most of my furniture is bachelor-grade stuff... my uncle's Kmart pull-out sofa bed that is probably older than I am and a few old office chairs for seating.  He doesn't have any shortage of stuff to scratch on and I've never discouraged him from it.

This is a little unnerving.  I've gotten so used to the background noise with him wandering around messing with stuff and meowing... now it's quiet in here and it feels like something is wrong.

Well, keep it in mind just in case some of your favorite stuff starts getting shredded...that's all I'm sayin (of course the assumption I am making is that your cat will be allowed to retain its front claws).

Next time you stop by something like a Petsmart price the 2 or 3 ft cat trees they sell.

Eaglekeeper, short of making that tree yourself, that's a good buy.  I have to usher the spousal unit away from the ones at Petsmart/Pet Warehouse when we go there.  That thing would be at least double the cost at either of those places.
