Oh Chris, while I am thinking about it I wanted to mention, in case you are thinking about providing something your cat is allowed to scratch and climb around on.
I spent a good deal of time on this subject myself, even to the point of ordering building plans (which I think I still have if you would like to see them).
I ended up getting a cat tree from a company called Armarkat.

This thing stands 1 hand taller then me and i'm 6 ft.

When and if you go looking for a cat tree, don't try to judge it for base stability, the cat just needs to learn how to "fly" it.
Trust me on this...it's good to have something in the house that the cat knows it is allowed to scratch the smithereens out of (well, and a squirt gun).
