I found this place through Google during the crash at TOS.  I hadn't posted much there or been a member for long when it crashed.  I recognized some of the names here from CU, so signed up.  Before CU and here, I posted on Yahoo's boards when they had discussion forums for Op Ed columnists. I stuck with Ann Coulters boards back then.

There are political discussions on the Cubs.com boards, but the lefties there are almost as bad , if not worse than DU.

Thor invited me. I've never been particularly political, but I am most comfortable here. Appreciate it!

I remember recognizing your name from our old home when you showed up here, sir.

Also, you were the first member here who ever got excresence from me.

I thought for sure you might be a professional baseball player who was trying to be anonymous.

Ron Paul and an invite from Rebel brought me here from CU, thank God.

Amazing, entertaining posters keep me here. I think I'm one of the first ten or so who posted here, even though my post count is not what others of my tenure have. I miss some of the founding members who aren't here much anymore. ASDF, Txradioguy, etc., etc.

This is an amazing place. Thanks to all the admins and mods who work so hard to make it so, and espectially to Rebel who gave us a place to stay!

Thor's a good man, a great guy.

One of my personal heroes, Thor.

I have no idea, no idea at all, however, what Thor thinks of me.

Perhaps as a nuisancesome younger brother or something.

But at any rate, Thor's a good man.

You know, sir, actually we're pretty stable with membership here; once someone joins, they tend to stay.

From time to time some drop out, but on the whole, our turnover isn't bad.

What this means is because old members stay, all new members are gravy.

It's great.

asdf and TxRadioGuy are busy in real life, I guess.  We all miss them, but real life is more important.

Nah, this was just a name I picked on the Cubs board about the time that Todd Hundley was being ran out of Chicago traded to the Dodgers.

Time for that once-a-year survey of the membership, so as to figure out what works, and what doesn't work.

conservativecave seems to be working astonishingly well, the numbers (traffic) going up-up-up every single month, the sky being the limit; obviously conservativecave does what works.

But it's that time of the year anyway.....

(a) what brought you to conservativecave?  (a member already here, google search, whatnot)I wanted to find a forum that was along the same lines as my belief system, and boy did I find it. Still love The Cave.

(b) any suggestions on how to improve conservativecave?I've always wanted a vBookie system for betting on everything from sports, to politics. Just my two cents.

I came from CU when everyone came. I don't hate CU, I miss the members from there that don't post here too.  I have tried to post over there several times but I don't like the layout and for some reason I never go back.

I really don't have anything I would change here.

Found CC, through PJ's DUmmie FUnnies.
Lurked for a month, and signed up.

Oh now, there's no such thing as a "head moderator" here.

When this place was first established, Rebel instructed the moderators to keep a small head, and you're not helping, sir.

I was afraid he was giving that impression.

My attitude's always been it's not necessary to kiss my posterior because I do a pretty good job kissing my posterior myself.

But nothing's stopping them from registering and posting here, other than their own cowardliness.

Oh I know, I wish there were a few more brave ones LOL.

I made my way over here from FreeRepublic, via the DUmmie FUnnies.  A member over here (I can't remember which) mentioned in a thread that the DUmmies are lampooned all the time over here at the cave.  I lurked for quite a spell before actually joining.

Got a link from some other members here, and lurked for a good long time.  Signed up, because y'all were entertaining.

Suggestions?  That people that sign on only to read the DUmpster, would click on other threads every once and a while.  I try to stay away from the DUmp, as it is too much like the people I work with in real life.  I don't care to hang out there, but sometimes it is like crickets everywhere else.

An excellent suggestion.  Thank you.
