Damned near. It goes up so fast, at EVERY station at the same time, that you can almost see the numbers jumping.

There's no greed or collusion, though.....
Great thought. Now if only it could be proven and added to the list of owebuma scandals currently swirling.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I was reading a freight industry magazine, and they had mentioned that since 2009, diesel fuel costs have went up 61%.  They also mentioned that fuel was 25% of the operating cost of a truck in 2009, and it is now 37% of the operating costs.

I kinda knew that in my accounting brain... or at least part of that equation.  Seems like an awfully tough margin.

Went up $.25 here last week. Don't know what it's done in the last couple of days.

Sam's and Costco still the cheapest places to get gas.... fortunately Sam's is only a few miles away.

Spent a shitload of money in driving from mid-Missouri all the way to Bah Hahbah, Maine; and then back again via Detroit.

I've got the receipts, but I'm afraid to look at them.

I think you are on to something, don't look.  I can hardly wait to see where diesel is down Maine and in Nova Scotia .... Oh my 1.33 per liter in NS (or if I got it right about 5.00 per US gallon).  $3.93 per gallon in Houlton, Me.   Guess I will be spending most my vacay cash with "big oil".  I will enjoy the view but the lobster and clam feast?  Oh well.

Zeit--I'm thinking a prebuy of heating oil this year might not be such a bad deal after all, especially at $3.29 or 3.39, depending on where you go.

Oh, and gas went up another 4 cents yesterday.  $3.70.9/gal.  Thanks, Obammy!

Been with the same people a quarter century so they treat me right on pre buy.  Last year they replaced the boiler with one about 1/3 the size (same output), high efficiency.  Steam.  I love it.  Also went with a new double bottom tank to replace the old one which was original equipment from when the house was changed from coal in the 1950's.  The house was built before WW2 so it had coal before conversion to oil. That furnace was probably huge by today's standards.

M went over to Sam's earlier this afternoon to get gas, and every pump had several cars waiting in line... so he left.

The local quick shop has it for $3.38 today... well, it was at 10:30 this morning when I saw it. It could have changed since...

I drove by the gas station today and it jumped way up to 1.40/l or something like 5.29/G. It's not been this high in several months. Diesel is about 10 cents less.

Still hanging around at $3.70 here.  That means a full tank of gas will run me "only" $130.

I've become trained to consider 1/2 a tank as empty. So I gas up then, still paying the same in the end but not in such big chunks of cash all at once.

Yeah, isn't it crazy how you can rationalize that?  I do the same thing.

M is using the same logic. He said gas went up at Sam's to $3.05... it was $2.98 on Sat.

Could be worse. BFF and I went to Greensboro NC on Sat. Gas was almost $4 at the gas station near where we went, so we found a Sam's. It was $3.55.
