I happen to know -- at least from having read a few of her posts -- that Ms. Schadenfreude, aka "Schadie", is a seductress in her own right. You've probably been seduced and don't even realize it yet.

I don't have the audio so you'll have to take my word for it when I say that I played Sousa's "Semper Fidelis" march in honor of you two.

Mr. Euphore, thanks for your serenade. I found your photo to be fascinating. What kind of trombone is that? It seems to have extra loopy bits. Also, your trombone seems to have been accessorized, nice touch.

That's not a trombone it's a EUPHONIUM isn't it! I can't tell you how frustrating it's been trying to figure out your screen name.

Anyway, once I pick up Mrs.Schade in my classic C-20, I figured I'd take her down to the nearest crossroads and conjure up Old' Scratch on my cigar box guitar....unless BadCat builds one of these things first.

Hmm. I'm not sure who that imitation Schadenfreude is, that Schadentation. But it looks like she'll fit right in the crock pot.

Anyway, I thought I'd set the mood with a little romantic music, maybe some sterno highballs, wait for the moon to come out...fangs start to grow...you know, the usual foreplay.

My favorite part of the guitar build was the sink drains for sound holes. LOVE THAT!!!!!!ELEVENTY!!!LllLLL The volume and distortion knobs were a little loud, though. Gotta tone those down with a box that small.

I'll tell ya, Schadie looks ready, if'n ya know what I mean. The git-tar is tuned, ain't it? The writhing shall commence any moment, it looks like.

Um, no, the pic above is me puttin' in some time on my bass trombone. (Bass trombones have extra bits up top -- sorta like some of the CC gals, I suspect.)

And the accessories are my fan club. (I have only 3 members - the two parrots and Mrs E, who snapped the photo.)

I think you'd be my fourth fan. I'll get Mrs. E to send you the address where you can send your two Rice Krispies box tops for your autographed pic of me and the secret decoder ring.

Uh, I think that B string just went a bit flat. Need to tighten it up a bit.

I've been workin' on my eyebrows with this one. Only 4 more inches to go:

Hellfire. I'll stick with the trumpet, but I've always wanted to give the trombone a shot. The case they come in looks big enough to hide all sorts of stuff that would most likely be used later as evidence against Mrs.Schade and I after we knock over the circle K on our way home from the deserted reservoir.

Also, that soloist looks like he's been raiding my closet.

Not too fond of that one. The backbeats are enough to try the patience of Job. I had to take a pill. And that trombone player was drunk - I can tell. Did you give him that can of Sterno that I had bequeathed to you? Shame on you if you did. It was some really special stuff.

No, as far as trombone goes, I like this kinda stuff that follows. Dick Shearer, the lead trombonist, is undoubtedly the LOUDEST trombone player that ever walked the planet. And he was somewhat reserved in this one.

What? Nothing could be farther from the truth my dear Schadenator. Actually, I was planning on using you as an alibi.

Anyway. Mr. Euphor dug up a true classic with Stan the Man. But Don Drumond and the fellers from studio one did the best they could with what they had. Which is to say, nothing. Jamaica didn't have a lot of musical resources, or even musical instruments in the early 60's. The stuff you're hearing was played on instruments too beat up for the salvation army, and by self taught musicians who couldn't even read music.

But we can move on (ahem) from the sterno and right into moth balls. They're pretty crunchy. Like this tune.
