Two questions:
1.  Has Oooobama taken credit for the rescue yet?
2.  Will he declare this a national holiday to commemorate his historic action in saving the planet?

He's not that crass.

He strikes me more as someone carried along by events and whose biggest contribution is to minimize his own exposure in matters where his traditional reflex has been disparagement and second-guessing.

"the messiah" was way behind the power curve on this the second the Naval officer issued the open fire command.  Haven't been watching any news this morning, but I'm sure the white house moron Gibbs stammered and stuttered through the briefing, not to mention the INTELLIGENT questions being asked of him by the media.  I know calling the question being asked by the media is pushing the enveloped, but considering what a DUFFUS Gibbs is, there are some intelligent questions being asked.

His career and days in the Navy are definitely numbered because he forgot that he had to ask - pretty please mr president, can we shoot the bad guys, please, please, please!

I'm sure the speechwriters are already busy preparing the TELEPROMPTER for an obama presser.  The obama white house will pull their standard of handing out a list of question the media can ask with each question having a number or letter assigned and obama being provided, on the teleprompter, the name of the person who was assigned # 1, # 2, etc. so he doesn't thank himself again.

What raises a lot of questions is the FACT the the DOD had to ask permission in the first place, then there is the matter that they had to ask permission a second time.  What that hell is that all about?

It was reported that DoD did ask twice for authorization.

But we don't know the exact options associated with each authorization. I'd be willing to bet my next paycheck, however, that more resources (i.e., SEALs) became available on-site and that comprised the second request.

Bottom line is, we won't ever know the exact details associated with this operation (unless it's leaked out of the WH itself, which is always an option). Speculating as to why this and why that doesn't really answer the questions.

Painting the picture that Uncle Zero sent the DoD boys back to the drawing board because their plan wasn't acceptable or that Uncle Zero himself sat on the plan doing nothing can't be confirmed. Let's just stick with what we know, okay?

While I can see a "need" to take a jab at Oblahma, quite honestly............who cares? Our guys got the mission right because we waited for the right moment.

H5's to all of them!

Now, on to a slightly different observation, namely the two shitwads (reportards) from NPR. Did anyone noticed the "loaded" questions they were asking the, and excuse my not knowing, "leader"/commander (I think) of the Seals that was being interr...questioned?

Knowing what we know- doesn't sound like the end-state matched any plans anyone may or maynot have been working on. The pirates opened themselves up and the snipers took action. The commander on teh ground gave authroization, as is fitting. If the plan was 'Wait until the pirates **** up" was the plan, then someone needs to be booted in the balls.

Agreed - and the key point, again as reported, is that The Zero granted the on-site commander to make a call. That's likely a "normal" option granted by any high-level executive such as the prez (except certain notables, such as LBJ and Jimmah C., both Dems who also wore the uniform at one point in their miserable ****ing lives), but since Obama has absolutely no idea about authorizing much of anything beyond strengthening his own power and taking money from those who've earned it, he went with the flow on this one.

You can't **** up what you don't know.

Don't know, but I had to laugh that they brought up barratry. These people don't know shit about admiralty law, so they should keep their mouths shut... Dumbasses.  :loser:

Quote
In maritime law, barratry is the commission of an act by the master or mariners of a vessel for an unlawful or fraudulent purpose that is contrary to the duty owed to the owners, by which act the owners sustain injury.

A form of barratry is misconduct of the master of a ship in taking commodities on board that subject the ship to seizure for Smuggling. It is essential in barratry that a criminal act or intent exist on the part of the master or mariners which inures to their own benefit and causes injury to the owners of the ship.

He's not that crass.

Oh but he is.

He talked to the ships captain at 4pm local on Sunday and by 4:11 AP and the other wire services were sending out their story about how he handled the hostage crisis.

He and his spin meisters are tyring to take full credit when all they did was sign two pieces of paper authorizing the military to do what they already had authorization to do.

what were the questions?

I cant remember off hand. I just noticed that they bordered on "blame America". The two reporters were from NPR, male and female. Even my father noticed and he's pretty middle of the road. I wasen't really paying attention because of the non-stop coverage of the rescue and the suspect in the local area being arrested for the murder of the little girl. It was on the news (local NBC) and was a "briefing" for the press. This would have been Sunday(?) afternoon.
