I didn't know d-bags came in SIZES.  I always thought they were kinda one-size-fits-all apparatus.

Suggestions?  Ok....

My wife, who adores me, and I, combine what we would spend on a material gift for each other and do something special we both enjoy.  We take a trip or buy something unnecessary we both want.  Like a 108" plasma flat screen for the bedroom.  Or a his-a-hers bus pass.  It all depends on how good the year has been.

I realize I am looking at the world through 78 year old eyes, so I may not be a Romeo-type anymore, but it works for us.

That we normally do.  Probably has something to do with the length of time we have been married.  :)

Edited to edit:  I don't know what is wrong with me, I think I'm slippin' into ignorance.  I meant "That is what we normally do"

No, I have been having one ailment after another lately (don't ask, you don't want me to go into it all over again...trust me  :p).   I feel all stressed about getting it done now and have absolutely no idea what to get anyone.

Ugh I'm sorry to hear of your ailings :(  Especially this time of year!  I've gone the whole internet route the past couple years because I hate the malls and the crowds.  It has made me a lot happier!  :)

Got some stuff for my wife squirreled away.  I buy jewelry and stuff throughout the year when I see something eye catching. Couple big gifts for the kids have been snagged already.

I have to do the remote friends list this week for wine and cheese baskets and stuff.

Not since 1987.  I made a decision to "opt out".  My Decembers have been so much more pleasant.

You are very wise :)  Probably helps with your sanity too!  As if the holidays aren't hectic enough without all the shopping!  :)

Clear balls?  They are such a practical addition.  They can fill in those "naked spots" and reflected the light on almost any tree.  You are brilliant!

The truth is, when our kids were kids, I was anal and ridiculous about Christmas.  Then the day came when I realized I had spent too many years roasting your nuts and jingling your bells.  It was time to relax and enjoy the season.

My wife still likes to "do" Christmas.  I let her.  She leaves me alone.

Since we have four kids and eight grandkids and four inlaws and eight out-inlaws, etc, we draw names.  This year I drew my youngest daughter's name.  My wife already bought my present to give.  I like that.

Yes, you are...in more ways than most folks know.

I'm going to bring out our aluminum tree this year.  It's 7' tall and about 6' wide at the bottom.  Very nice.  Made in 1962.

I use solid purple satin balls and a color wheel.

As my wife (as well as the ex-wife) has made painfully obvious to me, I don't know what women really want.  I'm putting this thread up to take suggestions for good, relatively inexpensive Christmas presents.  I was leaning toward a book of "coupons" for things done for her, like "one romantic dinner" or "rake the lawn"... any ideas, ladies?

Just do not buy a membership to any gym or anything that can be misconstrued as something she might need to get herself in shape - even if she's already in shape!  Unless she specifically asks for it.  I have asked for a home gym this year and my husband keeps asking me if I am sure that's what I want and that I won't take it personally if he gets that for me.  That is what I want.  And I won't take it personally - unless I have PMS or something.

:lmao:

Spa gift cards are nice and I really like it when my husband buys me a gift card at my salon for highlights and a haircut.  I guess he forgets that he pays for it the rest of the year, too.

Probably worth a lot of money by now.

Solid retro.  I remember our aluminum tree and color whee when I was a kidl.  Lost to the vaguerities of time, alas.

My aunt has a plastic tree that I've put up a couple times.  It's really nice.  It looks real unless you get close enough to see the plastic arms.  Considering that it's usually dark by 5pm, most people won't notice an artificial tree unless they stick their face in it.

My dad planted our Christmas tree from 1981 in our front yard.  It's still there, and it's about nine or ten feet tall now.

That's on the Mancubs list as a matter of fact.

Got a nice digital camera for the oldest and the little guy is getting a small TV for his room.  Those are the BIG things.
Few odds and ends here and there to round out.

I asked for a 42" flat screen so I will probably get a spatula or a box of toffee.
