My daughter lives in Windmill Farms.  That's almost center. :)

Are they like Dutch windmills, or Nebraska windmills, the windmills down there in Texas?

Long story short:

--Born in Los Angeles, dad in construction so I lived in most of the western states as a kid, graduated HS in NM (Farmington).
--Joined Navy, went to Great Mistakes, got picked up for ROTC and went to GA Tech for a couple of years.  Screwed the pooch on that, went back AD, Orlando, Idaho Falls, Hawaii, Guam, and back to CA (SD, then LA again).
--Got out of Navy, moved to OC (Huntington Beach area).
--Got tired of CA bullshit, moved to New Hampshire in 2006.

My daughter has a miniature Dutch-flavored windmill in her yard.  That one is a coincidence.  She brought it from her yard in St. Louis.

The faux windmill in the park across the way is just a regular old Texas windmill, much like the ones found in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska.

Good question - I was 8, so I'm not so sure. I'll ask my dad. I know we were pretty north of Savannah, somewhat close to Augusta (so I'll go with South of). He had something to do with a base down in that area, not sure what

Yes - he was probably there (not 100%, though - the other base is a lot of miles away), but we were more south of that. I remember him complaining about his drive. I left him a message to see what exact city/town we were in. All I remember is dirt roads and oyster/crawdaddy cookouts  :-)

What branch? They have oyster cookouts here but these people don't know what crawdads are, the f'ers. That's one of the ONLY things I miss about Mississippi.

I am ready for crawfish season to start. You are right those Chinese ones are tough and don't taste that good. Made some seafood gumbo with crawfish tails and crabmeat. Some expensive eating but damn good. I am so ready to suck some heads on dem crawdads.

Euph is, apparently, someone who's never had crawfish. Euph, when you boil'em in Zararain's, most of the juices are in the head. Sure, the meat is the tail, but the head is the seasoning. You haven't lived until you've sucked the head.  :-)

The lightning there was incredible. :)
