Cool!

Yeah, I see her standing on a corner with a sign, "Will screw for food and shelter".

They have a name for those, but they're usually not holding signs.

She is doing something called lying. She isn't a "business owner," and if she is, her "business" is used to pee out of, not to generate cash or profits.

I agree, BFDU.  I know I don't give a damn what the client does, assuming it ain't illegal or jams me up, as long as they pay the bill.

blah blah blah blah blah blah

With apologies to Exodus 32:

1 When the primitives saw that Minnesota Moses was so long in coming down from his soap box, they gathered around Skins and said "Entertain us with a website!  As for this fellow Minnesota Moses who spouts out hot air, we don't know what is going on with him."

2Skins answered them, "Take out the gold nose rings and jewelry that your civil union partners are wearing, and pawn them for me."  3So all of the primitves took off their jewelry, hocked it, and donated the money to Skins. 4He took what they donated to him and made it into a website in the shape of an island, fashioning it for fools.  Then they said, "This is our god, fellow primitives, who will bring us out of reality."

5When Skins saw this, he put a donation tab on the island and announced, "Tomorrow will be a Valentine's Heart campaign for my vacation."  6So the next day the primitives rose really late in the day and sacrificed hippie lettuce in burnt offerings and presented their aborted babies in fellowship offerings.  Afterwards, they sat down to get blazed again, and indulge in "revelry".

7Then, out of nowhere, Nadin (who used to be the primitives' Moses) said to Minnesota Moses, "While you were out pitching your tent one day closer to the mausoleum, the primitives, whom you had nearly bored to death with your ridiculous soap-box preaching, have turned away from what I, Nadin, had commanded them and continue to inhabit the island that is for fools."  They have donated money to it, and have said, "This is our god, fellow primitives, who has brought us out of reality."

But Minnesota Moses sought the favor of the Nadin.  "Nads," he said, "Why should you live in exile from the primitives, whom you brought through earthquakes with great powdered milk and your shiny bald head?"

(to be continued, time allotting)

Well, if her line of work is anything like MineralMan's, I'm sure the client can find someone better who works cheaper with a lot of effort...it could take as long as two whole minutes to do a web search and look at the first three hits.

Your example is someone generated 40 mil in profits and got to keep 4. Not 40 mil in SALES but profits. So you tell me what do you think is so fair about working your ass off and 90% of the wealth you create goes to someone else.

That's horseshit. I own my business. We gross 4-6 mil a year have an open wage policy. Part of the profits go back into the business but most go back to employees. Even at this low level I can promise you no one who works for me is idiotic enough to sit by and put up with me sitting on my butt taking 90% of the fruits of their labor. Anyone who can generate 40 mil in pure PROFIT is going to tell an employer to put up or go get bent. As well they should and proves my point exactly.

yeah right

When a good hard worker, widowed and doing everything she can to keep 2 teen boys out of trouble and headed for college. She was well respected by coworkers and me, hrr immediate boss. She got fired for daring to ask for a 50 cent raise and I'm still so mad it's hard to stick to no violence. I needed to rant.

Thankfully the lives affected by similar job creators in this country are idiotic and meaningless enough to earn your kick.

Thankfully us bosses blanketed the locals until we found a job opening...she'll make a buck more an hour starting tomorrow. I quit over it ... just can't work for those ****ers.

It's official. I've created more middle class jobs than Mitch McConnell

A few months ago I told my employer to go get weighed over their economic abuse to their employees.

I already had the purchase of a local business in the works. Remodel is done. I've hired a total of 13 people in the last 2 weeks - hoping to keep 10 but all 13 if they work out. Lowest pay is $15 an hour for the couple of part timers. Average is $19. That's pretty good money out here in eastern Kentucky.

One of my vendors say they had to add on 2 more staff because of our account. Another one has hired a part timer because of our account.

Not to mention the construction guys who did our build out and the local businesses who will benefit from our foot traffic right in town.

We did it without tax abatements, government subsidies or hand outs (other than the norm of good roads, reliable utilities, education for the kids etc)

By contrast Mitch's policies have put 100's of 1000's in Kentucky out of work and pushed lots more middle class workers down below the middle class.

Don't pat me on the back - that's not why I'm posting. This was not that hard. Any moron can do what I'm doing if they have the will. My reason for posting is to contrast the fact Mitch is a cancer.

Somehow she quit a job last fall, opened a new business at the same time and is making 4 million a year and firing vendors she's had for 20 years.  Quite a story.

No, no. Went from Zip - Zero - Nada in February to $4 mil PROFIT today. Either its business has one heck of a profit margin, or her rolodex is solid gold. Or maybe it's blowing smoke out of its ass.

9 months, that's pretty good. Last million I made took 3 years. And that was in the stock market. Thank you APPLE.

43. I don't have to say "I'm sorry." You're right.

But, I don't say "I'm all booked up," because I'm not. I've turned down contracts when I really needed the money. Normally, clients I turn down don't actually ask me why. If they, do, I'll tell them why. I suspect that most of them already know.

I write the content of complete new websites for small to mid-sized businesses. I work with a single web designer most of the time. If I refuse the job, he refuses the job. In fact, he relies on my to do the research on potential clients and trusts me to get it right. Here are some typical clients with whom I will not work:

Pornography websites
Right Wing or even Republican political websites
Bogus alternative medical websites
Websites for any business that uses predatory marketing tactics
Websites for businesses owned by people who have multiple court judgments against them. I pay the $25 for a search
Websites that are in an illegal business
Payday lenders
Aggressive mortgage brokers
Religious websites (I'm an atheist and won't write that stuff)
Websites for any business that exploits anyone, from customers to employees (I research this carefully on a range of websites)
Websites for any business that makes me feel icky somehow
Websites for anyone who I meet and who looks like he or she will be a PITA to work with.
Other websites I simply don't want to write

I don't have to turn down many contracts, but there have been a number of them over time.

Agreed, this bouncy involves DUmmy Time Travel, which is made possible by the distortions in gravity caused by their sheer stupidity, their need for attention, and, as in Interstellar, their proximity to enormous masses (looking at you, LynneSin). I think there is probably a germ of truth in all these stories, but the one in which she's the owner of a 250K/500K per month business probably means she sold a couple of dreamcatchers to furtive lesbians at a swap meet. The rest, where she is an hourly worker, is probably true but her episodes of Truth to Power are of course part of a proud DUmmy canon of failure and frustration.

Yeah.  To the extent there is any truth to the story at all, there has to be a whole other side of that story, which the Greatest Business Magnate of Eastern Kentucky is omitting.
