It is on the calendar at work. That will be the last day I work. When I get around to waking up the next morning, I will be retired.

2. Good for you, my dear Omaha Steve!

I just cannot say enough great things about being retired. It's so good to finally be busy with the life you want to have.

Enjoy!

At the ripe old age of.....58 years, and the bulk of.....450+ pounds.

Perhaps Steve the socialist can turn to running for office full time now.

Let's see . . . what would be an appropriate retirement gift? :whistling:

I've got an idea or two, but I'd love to hear other suggestions. :naughty:

"All you have to do is look straight and see the road, and when you see it, don't sit looking at it - walk!" -Ayn Rand

You know, that's very odd; when I was posting this, I was thinking along the same lines.

I think an appropriate retirement gift would be a heavy-duty industrial-strength gym membership for the big guy, because since he won't be working any more, he won't be working off his meals and between-meals snacks.

If I were to heading towards Bellevue, NE for Thanksgiving, I would anonymously give Steve the Stout a lit bag of dogshit on his front stoop.

I noticed that he was able to squeeze in one last paid holiday, Thursday, 28 NOV, before retiring to his deathbed.

End of November?!? Retirement?!?

He announced a terminal disease months ago!

He had months to live!

Now it's a happy retirement?

Need a link to his sad announcement. I think he wanted to go out like Lou Gehrig at Yankee Stadium.

I have no doubt that Steve's retirement date was written on the calendar at work by his poor, suffering co-workers.

The real party will be the day after he retires. :whistling:

I thought the same thing, GB. Can't remember how long it was until he was gonna die but it wasn't very long. Seems like it was 3 months? Maybe it was 6 months?  I thought he wasn't gonna last to the end of the year.

Edited to add: I found the link. It wasn't 3 or 6 months. Said he was diagnosed last December and had to retire by the end of the year.

Maybe he will kick the bucket 1 day before he gets his first check and save taxpayers a boatload of money.
