A memorial dedicated to slain teenager Michael Brown was destroyed by a fire Tuesday morning. The memorial, made mostly of teddy bears and homemade signs, had been kept on the side of the street feet from where Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on August 9th. Another memorial, located in the middle of Canfield Drive at the exact spot where Brown’s slain body laid for four hours, remains intact.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this point.

Not much of a stretch to contemplate a bunch of cheap cardboard placards, stuffed toy animals in the "teen's" memory, and bottles of sun-baked alcohol - all surrounded by burning candles- could one day catch fire.

Local police need to leave these thugs to themselves! This was a classic lose-lose-lose situation:

* The police have neither the training nor the equipment for a fire that large; no property being threatened, they left it to burn itself out; the thugs blame the police for not putting it out;

* Suppose the police had fire extinguishers and used them; depending on the type, this would have made a mess of the "memorial" or blown it apart; the thugs would have blamed the police for desecrating the "memorial" and posted pix to FB and race-baiters' sites;

* Suppose the police had tried to hasten self-extinguishing by kicking apart the various pieces of the "memorial"; the thugs would have blamed the police for desecrating the "memorial" and posted pix to FB and race-baiters' sites.

BTW, the beauty supplies store that was looted is not close to the site of the "memorial", so the looting was just that, opportunistic theft. Maybe they can buy back their stolen stock on ebay or CraigsList; or maybe they can pay the looters' GFs for pix of them modelling the stolen stock!

A Ferguson police officer was shot Saturday night. The officer, a man, survived the shooting, authorities said.

The shooting occurred in the 1000 block of Smith Avenue in Ferguson, near the new Ferguson Community Center.

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said Saturday night that the officer was on routine patrol and spotted two suspects trying to break into a business. He said the business was in Ferguson.

When the officer confronted the suspects, Jackson said, one of them pulled a gun and fired at the officer. The officer was struck once in the arm, and was expected to be okay.

At a news conference near the Ferguson Police Department early Sunday, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar gave the same account of the shooting as Jackson.

 I do not care if the victim was Black, White, Asian or Latino,  I don't care if the Officer was from some native tribe in Alaska,  this is not about race----- this is about Truth, reconstruction of the incident, science and to understand that no two eyewitnesses saw and heard the same thing. 

Sort of like the Movie 'Natural born killers"------Saw this movie with family [Adult] and as we all saw the same thing, heard the same words spoken, we ended up arguing for days about what we had seen and heard.  A satire on the press and the weekly  papers saying Jesus was found in a grilled cheese sandwich.

It will not be easy for the Feds to refute anything Baden finds as they will need to find someone with a better track record then Baden's to contradict his findings.

To CMYPAY--------- I would believe that after being shot 5 times, this man was in no condition to charge bare handed the man who had shot him.  The head shot to the top of his head was we must assume to be the fatal one and may have been received as he, the victim was going down to the ground.

We will have to wait for a year or so to get this sorted out, the wheels of Justice grind slowly.

Dr. Baden will be easily undermined in the minds of whites.  He was called by the family to reinforce the beliefs of the black community.  Dr. Baden was a defense witness in the O.J. trial.

The St. Louis County prosecutor’s office is investigating an accusation of misconduct on the grand jury that is hearing the case against the Ferguson police officer who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Ed Magee, the spokesman for county prosecutor Robert McCulloch, said they received the information from a “Twitter user” Wednesday morning.

“We are looking into the matter,” he said.

An account of possible jury misconduct surfaced Wednesday morning on Twitter, when several users sent messages about one juror who may have discussed evidence in the case with a friend.

In one of those messages, a person tweeted that they are friends with a member of the jury who doesn’t believe there is enough evidence to warrant an arrest of the officer, Darren Wilson.

Really stupid for a grand juror to disclose anything.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A Ferguson business owner is calling the protestors who descend on his city at night “terrorists” and says Homeland Security should be called in.

The anonymous caller to the Charlie Brennan show, who KMOX confirmed is a Ferguson small business owner, says the daytime protestors are fine, but that changes when the outsiders, including elected officials from outside Ferguson, arrive after dark.

“The unpeaceful protesters come out at night, trying to harm or burn our businesses down or stop the businesses,” the caller said. “And it’s time that our government called this what it is, and this is a terrorist act.”

“I didn’t have any problems with anybody or any color, and all of a sudden it feels like we are being held responsible for something that’s not our fault,” Singen, 70, said as she left Faraci Pizza, a 46-year-old Ferguson business that has become a focal point of racial tension. “I don’t get it.”

REPORT: Missouri Authorities Planning for Riots if Ferguson Officer Not Indicted

FERGUSON, Mo. (CBS St. Louis/AP) — Missouri officials are reportedly planning for possible riots if a Ferguson police officer is not indicted in the death of an 18-year-old African-American.

Reuters reports that state authorities are meeting two to three times a week to draw up contingency plans in case of riots if Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson is not charged in the Aug. 9 shooting death of Michael Brown. A grand jury is expected to decide next month whether Wilson will face criminal charges.

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar fears violence will not only encompass Ferguson, but that riots could spread to other meetings.

I fear riots out of this period no matter what the outcome is.

Unless the Grand Jury is kept in seclusion, I can't help but think that all this crap will influence their decision.  Then if there is a trial and he's found innocent, then it will be worse.

OTOH, if the GJ doesn't find cause for trial, then the feds will probably step in with bullshit charges.
