You know, we didn't celebrate Fitzmas this year (it took place on May 12, 2006)--not that everyone forgot, but that conservativecave was down.

The return of Fitzmas.

There is talk of Governor's Walker and Christie being prosecuted. I think that's pretty unlikely. Perhaps you've noticed that top-tier Republicans are (like bankers) a protected class in today's DOJ, and among law enforcement in general. They get the "look forward, not backward" treatment.

The courts have ordered the release of some of the documents in the witch hunt against Walker.  The DUmmies think there is proof of his guilt, but it highlights the illegal methods used to pursue Walker.

In point of fact, those 24 hours are "business hours," i.e. starting on Monday.

"Jeez, Jason," I said, "we might want to put that into the essay. Half the planet thought 24 hours was 24 hours. They thought the deal would go down today."

To be fair, a dozen eyes looked at that article yesterday before we published it, mine included, and none of us caught that. The word "business" has been inserted into the story after "hours" where it belongs:

So. Monday at the very earliest, but more like Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm going to go take a nap and then go get drunk with some friends tonight. Dan's brother Ken, the airline pilot and all-around wild-man, is in town for the weekend. Gonna be the Linwood Cafe, and their Mojo from the nitrogen tap, and then around again to our usual gathering spot.

I'd repeat everything I've said about Jason's multiple independent sources, about how the MSMs failure to pick this up sounds more like more of the same old shit than anything ominous, about how no hard paper or announcements or anything will come until, at a minimum, the government re-opens for business on Monday...but I've written it all already.

The truth will out. It always does.

I'll never forget that day, Friday, May 12, 2006.

Drunken Bill had promised the primitives earlier in that week that it was all coming down on May 12, and the primitives got all agog and excited about it.

I was of course concerned, and so early in that day, Friday, I set the computer on the Drudge Report, to constantly "refresh" the page so I'd be one of the first to know when Karl Rove was indicted, and I could carry the scoop to freerepublic.

I sat at the computer for ten hours, constantly pushing the "refresh" button.

By noon, the mouse on the computer had worn out from overuse, and I had to hurriedly install a new one (I always keep spare mice on hand).

Even by 6:00 p.m. central time, which was 7:00 p.m. eastern time, nothing had happened.
