Yeah, he gave me my grocery allowance earlier tonight.  He upped it from $25 to $30 for two weeks.  Instead of walking to the grocery store like I usually do, he allowed me to ride my bike.  I had to be really quiet when I got home because he hates it when I show my face during his weekly poker match here. 

I think I might be spanked later.

Since my photo has generated such interest, I will clarify a few things.  It is now precisely 4  1/2 years old.  I now have long hair several inches past my shoulders, and I am exactly 4 1/2 years older.  Alas, no marines were in the vicinity for me to make goo goo eyes at while it was being taken.  In fact, no men were around at the time.  A female coworker took the photo and put it up on the website.  I did not choose it, and there is nothing seductive or inappropriate about it.

You thought wrong.  The current approximation from DOJ from gunshot deaths every year, including suicides, is about 32,000.  Estimates of people who die from lack of access to healthcare vary.  I gave one of the lower numbers.  A quick Google search turned up an estimate of 45,000 from a Harvard Study.

Numbers that pale in comparison to 1,200,000 murdered unborn a year.

Hi Rob.  You must have missed the bulletin, but your fellow cavers will no doubt confirm that I am far too ugly with a personality much too unbearable to possibly have a husband.  Not anymore anyway.  I am blissfully able to do exactly as  I please.

It's hard to judge a book by it's cover and it's hard to judge a person's looks only by a head shot. But the picture I seen in this thread shows a fairly attractive young lady with dark hair and glasses. I did not find the picture ugly. But often times people talk too much and I get a really ugly picture of them inside my head. That is great you are able to do exactly as you please. Do you have plans of ever settling down with the man of your dreams any time soon? Do you have your eye on any knights in shinning armor? That college campus has to be full of hot guys, I'm sure several of them are interested in you.

I printed the red sweater one and taped to the back patio door to see if you would scare the neighborhood cats away. Well, I haven't seen any cats lately.

But the darned sasquatch have been here every night since. Hootin' and screechin' like a bunch of primitive dancing around their campires. And to top it off, they've been licking the damned window. Why just this morning I had to run one off that was sitting in my favorite lawn chair, drinking from an old beer can and smoking one of my stogie butts. That wasn't so bad. But he had the morning newspaper and was reading the editorials and screeching up a storm. So I sez: "Bubba, gimme back my newspaper and take of that stupid John Edwards ballcap. Its so 2004."

Okay, if you happen to be in the United Kingdom, the image fell into PD in 1985. (life +70 years) HOWEVER - The legality is kinda grey in the United States, because of Clinton's DMCA.  -Mainly because a tool was used to reproduce it, (in this case, a PC) and according to the DMCA, the tools aren't legal to use in any way. -It's ridiculous.

The way the DMCA works, is every reception of this image is a violation. So, if you scroll through a page on DU with posters who use this avatar, every time it pops up on your screen is one count. It also gets lodged in your PC's web cache, so you have actually copied it -in some cases, multiple times.

The odds of anything actually happening to you (or anyone who has just read this post) - pretty much nil - BUT that doesn't change the fact that a copyright law has been broken, has it ?

Oh, I think your photo is just fine, Alex. You seem like an attractive and intelligent woman, and I admire you for coming over here and mixing it up with us conservatives. And your age would not be a problem.

The problem is--well, there are a couple. I can't figure out your attitude toward men, if you are prejudiced against us or not. On the one hand, you put up this hard feminist shell, like all men are potential rapists. On the other hand, you come over here and flirt with us boys. 

Then there are your political views. You are a Democrat, which means you are in favor of Big Government and the forced redistribution of wealth. I am a conservative, which means I believe that our federal government should be limited to the powers granted it in the Constitution. That rules out wealth redistribution. I am opposed to taking wealth from some citizens, no matter how evil or rich, by force, against their will, in order to give it to other citizens, now matter how nice or needy, or to pay their bills. I believe that's a form of involuntary servitude. I believe in helping the poor and needy, but that such charity should be private and voluntary.

Then there are your moral views. You are OK with abortion. I am opposed to the willful taking of innocent human life.

But as far as your looks--judging by your photo, that would not be a problem.

I would never assume anyone is a birther unless they start talking that crap.  Granted, I'm guilty of making all kinds o assumptions about conservatives, but I'm not going to assume someone is a brain-dead birther unless he makes that clear himself.
