Oh my.

Nothing distinctive about this campfire, but I needed to remind the cooking and baking primitives that despite much busy-ness both here and in real life, franksolich hasn't stopped watching them for hints of seditious activities and base criminality.

Well darn, they eat pretty darn good for all their po' mouthing.

I had people stop in.  Some as they were headed to town and others as they were headed home from town.  Nobody expected to be fed, but you have to give them something.  Fortunately had a bottle of red zinfandel from a dinner party Friday night (the guests bypassed the wine and went straight for the whiskey that night!).  Also had some summer sausage, white cheddar, shrimp in the freezer, a couple of dips and chips.  Put it all out like I'd been expecting company and we had a great time.

They got lucky.  I had planned on graham crackers and peanut butter.  Or CoCo Wheats.   :-)

They eat pretty high on the hog for folks on food stamps.

We had bacon sammiches.

With, or without, mayonnaise, lettuce, and slices of tomatoes?

<<<has this idea, which might or might not be correct, that a "bacon sandwich" is different from the old-fashioned BLT.

Here in the dead of winter, with nothing available but pink, rock-hard, hothouse tomatoes, it's cruel to talk about BLTs.

Around here, a bacon sandwich is different from a BLT in that it doesn't contain lettuce or tomato.

I thought that might be the case, but doesn't that make it, uh, rather bland?

If I can't have a juicy tomato in my BLT, I'd rather not have one at all.  Conveniently, the exclusion of the lettuce and tomato only makes room for more bacon, if more bacon is your thing.  With a little bit of pepper, it's pretty good.

Of course, it's not an ideal situation, the absence of a good tomato, but I refuse to eat a rubbery tomato in a BLT.

I had nothing, because I was too damn tired and life sucks right now.  But yeah, those DUmmies sure are eating high on the hog.  Jeez.  Surprised to see that much meat from them...usually it's quinoa, Brussels sprouts, and the ubiquitous bean.

One LGBLT sandwich, hold the LG.

How many times have I posted something to this effect?

Bacon makes almost everything better.

The only logical follow-up to, say, a 'quarter-pounder bacon sandwich' would be a double quarter-pounder bacon sandwich. :whistling: O-) :fuelfire:

Mustard and squished flat by my hands getting all that lovely grease into the bread and preventing all that lovely bacon from falling out of the sammich.  LOL
