Thanks Wasp -- I forgot the PLONK!!!!

"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

The democrat party is all about diversity as long as everyone thinks the same.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Well, isn't that special?  I wonder if PW will glaze right over that post?  Much like I'm relatively sure he'll glaze straight over mine...

The democrat party is all about diversity as long as everyone thinks the same.

As Krauthammer recently said (pretty sure he stole it), "Progressives want everybody to be able to do what they want (as long as it's mandatory)".

Oh, and in case he tries to deny that because the original DU link is gone, I used a little Google-fu...but with that having failed me, I decided to employ some Nadjitsu, and I found this:

Quote
I was banned...

I am kirby who was banned. The ridiculous part of this is that it is was a misunderstanding. After I was banned without any warning or notice (just could not login), I started scratching my head to figure out what the heck I had done. I came across Skinners post above.

The poll in question was 'Is it hate speech to say that homosexuality is like incest and pedophilia?' and the context was Rick Warren being chosen to give the invocation.
Well when I quickly read this poll and voted, I mistakenly thought the question was 'hate crime', not 'hate speech'. I voted no because I did not think someones hateful speech should land them in prison charged with a hate crime. That seemed Orwellian to me.

I sent an email to DU to explain this misunderstanding, but they have ignored it so far.

As someone who supports gay rights and someone who had been on DU for almost 2 years (and donated), I felt unfairly punished and publicly embarrassed due to a simple misunderstanding. Talk about Draconian. I never got an email or a PM where I could have clarified what happened. And in this instance, he posted the three people who voted no (privacy policy violated?), banned me, and locked the thread so I never had a chance to correct the record.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

If you like your vote, you can keep your vote.

I can't imagine anyone having this DUmpmonkey on "ignore", and not vestanumbers.

The two best things I've done to make this place more enjoyable is to turn off the stupid sig lines (and face it folks, they're all stupid), and put vestanumbers on "ignore".
