Counter for an argument about min wage.

My repug of an uncle who has always been self employed argues that Min Wage can't be raised in the U.S. because our money is the world currency standard and that if we raised the min wage in this country places like England and Canada would suffer because there economy couldn't handle raising the min wage.

My wife especially tried to point out to my uncle that actually right now the dollar is weaker than other countries currency.

He bitched that she was a stupid female liberal.

So how do we counter this argument?

 :bs:

I'm sorry, I don't buy that a conservative would say that.  He may have politely disagreed, but not called her a "stupid female liberal".

Well, he would have been right.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Wasn't he the one who was going to just starve himself to death.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Is it possible that the uncle was referring to the DUmmie and not the wife?
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Too late, my mole already tried those names and they were taken but had been delivered stone pizzas. I mean come on the name gets you to an equivalent 1000 posts right away.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I hadn't seen diabeticman's name before.

He's been around for a while; older guy, lives in Pennsylvania, claims he can't work.

Always looking for a free ride.

Or at least a cheap one; one of his most-memorable posts was where he and his wife were trying to find a new place to live (their landlord got tired of them)--roughly, northwestern Pennsylvania--but it had to be two bedrooms, less than $400 a month, with utilities included in the rent.

I dunno if he found such a place.

3. If I did that I wouldn't speak to any of my relatives. Besides I keep the peace so that when my

grandmother passes away the uncle who is the excuture of Grandmother's will doesn't hurt my mother by keeping her from her share.

The way will is written Uncle decides HOW any and all assests are divided among himself and his siblings

'excuture'?  Another DU communications major? It's cute when they try to talk like the adults.

The dude really keeps the peace in the hopes that he himself will be able to benefit from Granny's passing.  Redistribution of assets among democrats is an ever-present need.
This too shall pass.

If I remember correctly, he's a former teacher.  He can't stand up on a job any more; that's his main gripe about why he can't work.

And.....get this.....he's a former teacher in.....speech.

You can conceal a lot of misspelling in speech.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
