Glad to see the push is starting to get those over 55 and women with children into shelter for the..
winter.

Those with children will sign up to try to do the work programs, but they have to find babysitters that the programs do not help with. And with all the uncertainty with all that is going on in Washington...time will tell how it is going to work this year.

Those that are 55 and over is another story. Many of the programs here a faith based. Many of the older street people believe that God needs a big black eye. So going to faith based... no, not happening.

What needs to be is more non-religious based help. The older homeless as well as the new type of homeless that has popped up, thanks to the Republicans, are very much not into "god". And I can't blame them. I too would love to be in line to punch him in the eye right now.

It is my opinion that if we are to really help people, get "god" out of it.

Reading between the lines, this reads like she was told in no uncertain terms that someone who needs the spot was getting it, and she can wash her cooter like all the whores do, in gas station bathrooms and at manual car washes.

Who might be writing her posts for her.  There isn't the normal amount of incorrect spelling/grammar/punctuation one usually sees.  Perhaps the people at the library are helping her.
This too shall pass.

Maybe she's using the computers in the library's children's section.  The keyboards are easier to use there.

That was my thought also.  If the left is so caring, why aren't there more atheist shelters than religious ones?

In fact, why don't these people help themselves and organize their own shelters?

There's no incentive for godless democrats to help winos and other deadbeats.

They already vote democrat.

House the homeless......donate plastic and duct tape.

They consider us "new" because we have education, clean records, no substance abuse issues, and solid work history's. We don't really fit the profiles many of the agencies help with.

Many of the agencies and faith based charities have yet to see that the old stereotypes are not a perfect fit to many of the homeless we have now.

Really, the old saying beggars can't be choosers comes to mind. Awful lot of arrogant and entitled homeless out there. As far as I see it they should be grateful anyone wants to help them with that shitty attitude. Hey Amber, maybe if you got your act together you could actually help someone instead of being a net drain. So far all you do it talk, talk, talk and you know what they say about talk...

I'm detecting an obvious mental deterioration in the convenience store primitive.

I think she's now a good candidate for commitment, and hope her loving caring sisters, along with her father, do the right thing.

There is an old saying that is coming to mind here: "Beggars can't be choosers."  The homeless have every right not to accept help, but quite simply, religious people are the ones offering help most of the time.

Amber, watching your problems  unfold on DU has shown that almost all of your problems are your own fault.  You had a place to live and you had a job, but you gave up both willingly with no fall back plan but to move to another state and be homeless.  Blaming the Salvation Army because they don't know how solve the problems of the "new homeless" is a cop out.

So let me get this right..... you all want more non-religious based help for those who don't believe in God but want to give him a black eye.

Billy Jeff Clinton has some used underwear he could send out.

Joe Choo-Choo Biden could strip off some off the almost $200 he gives to charities every year out.

Yeah. leftists are the most greedy people around. One set of elites want nothing but to steal your money while telling you are greedy and the the useful idiots want nothing but to steal your money while telling you are greedy. The smarter ones are rich and the stupid ones are poor.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Indian walks up to Amber and says, "Chance".

Amber says, "Don't you mean HOW?"

Indian says, "Me know how, me want chance."

Exactly - they help them once every four years with a ride to the polls, and maybe a little booze money if they're especially ornery about getting in the van.

Your opinion sucks.  If only you were smart enough to realize that taking God out of everything is what is causing all the pain in the world.  You are a heathen and whats worse about it you are a lazy heathen that can't even take care of yourself and you have the balls to talk bad about whatever kind of help might come your way?  You are a lazy and worthless hypocrite and just so you know God still loves you.  Try to let him in and I bet you see your life start turning around for the good.
