The type is Registered Nurse. They don't have degrees for endoscopy, E.R., etc., it's all RN. The only nurse specialties I know of are Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Anesthetist. If I'm wrong, CR will tell me. My mom and my first ex are nurses and I have a cousin who's a Nurse Anesthetist. I question the DUmmies claims, though. That's way too damn soon to be getting offers.
Sort of a funny story, I guess.
Both my parents were R.Ns.--although my father was, strictly speaking, a C.R.N.A., a registered nurse-anesthetist, but spent nearly all of his adult life as a hospital administrator.
They rarely, if ever, used "R.N." at the end of their names, even on
official medical documents; just their names. (I suspect that was kind of irregular, but they got away with it.)
It was as if people
knew they were nurses anyway, by their style and manner.
One time, when I was still pretty young, I spotted my mother's signature on something, and in that instance she'd actually used "R.N." at the end of her signature. For a while there, I supposed she'd served in the Royal Navy, and wondered how that'd been possible.
