Men -- the new second class citizens
« on: July 13, 2013, 04:42:21 PM »
Worth a look IMHO.

Quote
In November of last year, I wrote an article for Fox News called The War on Men (which I subsequently expanded to an eBook). To keep it pithy, in the piece I focused on one effect of this war: the lack of marriageable men. But there’s so much more to it. The truth is, men have become second-class citizens.

The most obvious proof is male bashing in the media. It is rampant and irrefutable. From sit-coms and commercials that portray dad as an idiot to biased news reports about the state of American men, males are pounced on left and right. And that’s just the beginning.

The war on men actually begins in grade school, where boys are at a distinct disadvantage. Not only are curriculums centered on girls’, rather than boys,’ interests, the emphasis in these grades is on sitting still at a desk.
{snip}
America needs to wake up. We have swung the pendulum too far in the other direction—from a man’s world to a woman’s world.

That’s not equality. That’s revenge

I like that it puts the link in for me.  I agree revenge is a much better way to put it.  Women, it seems to me, are much better at it than men.

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I agree there is a "war" on males.  And, it crosses the races.  It frickin' makes me ill.

I'll jump on my own bandwagon and describe a personal gripe.  I do not attend women's Bible studies or Sunday school.  Because the wives in those places start bashing on their husbands.  I grew up as a street urchin in Detroit.  Some of the people who were the nicest, or most tolerant of me (besides the winos), were the hookers.  The stand-on-a-street-corner cheap ones.  They spoke of their johns the way church and women at work do.  I'm left thinking, "And you're gonna crawl into bed with the dude?"  Pisses me off.

Good advice.  Bert the Turtle is right but shouldn't he have been a duck?  :-)

Revenge ~ a dish best served cold ~ the best revenge ~ a life well lived.  Men get mad then move on women internalize their anger then go for revenge.   Don't believe it?  Ask any divorced man.  Of course men seem to come back from divorce quicker in most cases from what I have seen.

I think you are right that men bounce back quicker than women.  I can honestly say this from a personal point of a women's view...This is especially true, it the relationship was an abusive one(mine was mentally and emotionally). I think that is why I am skittish, shy, and have a hard time starting relationships. I want a special someone so much, but I am scared to death!! I don't hate men,I certainly don't wage war on them, cus each one is different...
The sea is treacherous, but an even hand on the keel brings it safely to port.

Nothing is sexier than a man and his gun!!!

A man should prefer his own company to that of others, because no matter where he goes,he'll find himself there..

We will never know, except we have good evidence that on the Todd Beamer flight, our fellow American men manned up to prevent those animals from completing their cowardly plans. But that was only with the knowledge that the fate of the previous 3 aircraft awaited them if they did nothing. I contend that if the other 3 flgiths manned up much of the disaster of that day would have been averted. But we were under the spell of those who for years wimpified and wussified our fellow countrymen.
