I need help figuring out how to educate my Stepfather on progressive causes

I need help figuring out how to educate my Stepfather on progressive causes. HELP!!!
 
My Stepfather is receiving, and reading, and donating, to a great number of Hate mail sites. He regularly gets mail from groups like Freedom watch and the rest. Yesterday he sent money to 7 of them.

If I try to discuss it with him rationally, he spews out the lines he is receiving no problem. He is totally controlled by the wingnuts. The only thing he seems to get info from is the US mail.

I am struggling finding out how to get on progressive mail lists. Does anyone know how I can get some progressive mail coming into the house?

Educating parents and stepparents is impossible because it goes completely against the parent-child dynamic. You're going to have to agree to disagree and back off. He doesn't get to spew at you and you won't try to "educate" him, the gate swings both ways. This is the only way you can continue to tolerate each other.

You're going to have to let go of this one and hope either the cognitive dissonance gets too painful or someone not related to him gets through to him.

I know how frustrating it is, my own dad was a right winger who called me a commie when I was growing up. We agreed to disagree when I was 20 and that allowed us to stay in touch until his death a few years ago. I miss him.

Eventually he did come around, his last vote was for Kerry in 2004 and he died a religious unbeliever, unafraid of judgment or hell. I couldn't be the one to bring him around, though, and understanding that allowed me to have my dad.

I will respect their views as long as they respect MINE. I love my family , and friends too much to let political views ruin a relationship...

When It comes to discussing politics with beloved family and friends, I won't. Everyone has the right to their political views, whether I agree with  them or not. I will respect their views as long as they respect MINE. I love my family , and friends too much to let political views ruin a relationship...

Most of the members of my family are able to discuss politics and stay close.  It is a bit of a tradition to sit around a campfire drinking beer and discussing any and all topics until the wee hours of the morning with my cousins and I.  We can generally disagree and not have it effect anything other than the discussion at hand. 

My brother and I can't discuss politics too much, he is too passionate and he'll get mean if we disagree. 

My dad and I are actually on really opposite sides of the political spectrum.  I was amazed when I found out that he supports gun control, but I am a total daddy's girl and our political views have no effect whatsoever on our relationship.     My mom is fairly moderate, but she told me once she she tried to encourage me towards more conservative views than theirs when I was little because she believed that I would be happier as a result.

The best way I've found to "educate" liberals/ progressives is to treat them like the mascot of the dimrat party, the jackass.

Before attempting to do anything with a jackass, you must get about a 4 foot length of 2X4, and apply said 2X4 to the head of the jackass with as much force as you can.

After jackass resumes consciousness, he is much easier to train and teach.

I think it is talking about email. I had a super brainey leftist sign me up for all the hate sites from the left. This was a moment when I realized that there are no boundaries for a leftist, it is win at all costs. I would have never sent thousands of spam mail to anybody, ever. This shit did. You ever whup a jackass like that when I'm around and yer gonna look awful funny walkin' around with that 2x4 hangin' out yer ass. Donkeys and mules get a bad rap. One of the most gentle and loyal domesticated animals around. Horses are way more temperamental. You'll never get saddle sores from a mule or donkey like you can from a horse. Total different gate.
