We started out at the Roasterie, sort of a new yuppie joint in the middle of the old stockyard section of Kansas City, MO. The clientele of the Roasterie were well-to-do yuppie types. The neighborhood definitely something other than that. Big Dog says to avoid this area at night. But we were here during the late morning:

An interesting conversation piece on top of the Roasterie. It looks like a full-sized copy of a Douglas DC-3 airplane.

marv was there in his Tea Party T-shirt.

Chris_ had had a bad night, evidently, and was sweltering in the already oppressive heat:

Big Dog got there before anybody else and gave us a rundown on the joint and the local history.

After a cup of joe, we adjourned to the bbq joint. Apparently a well-known joint.

Chris_ was in a far better mood by this time. Musta been the coffee.
