God I love that stuff. I'm thinking in 2010 I'm going to take 2 weeks of leave and just drive out to Nebraska, and Oklahoma during late may early june. Get me some tornado chasin done.
Actually, when I returned to the Sandhills seven years ago, I was surprised to find out that "weather watching" in Nebraska (and probably Kansas and Oklahoma too) had become a popular spectator sport, bringing in lots of people and lots of bucks.
It probably has something to do with the unparalleled prosperity of the past several years, people having so much disposable income they can do this.
The problem with it is that such "weather watchers" tend to be the Starbucks-Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream crowd.
