Ok folks, I just love when I scoop every other media in town. This is big news. This kind of Amnesty will protect workers while we reach full immigration reform.

Why I scooped them, like Occupy... I staid, and waited and was damn patient.

Oh and I usually give the first four paragraphs, but all the background was needed. So I chose the relevant paragraphs from the big news.

Ok this was embarrasing

We are working on a story involving native people in Mexico. So I needed to send an Email to proceso, one of the top political magazines. It took me literally ten minutes to compose an email in Spanish... my native tongue.

So, the obvious thing is I NEED PRACTICE... damn I really do. So converted my IPOD to a Spanish computer and started plotting a short piece of fiction that will be done in Spanish. It will take me longer than English, but damn I need the practice. That was well, very embarrassing.

Ten minutes. Damn!

And that story better NOT involve going down to Ensenada, there are way too many personal safety concerns on that one.

It's only an hour away from San Diego; I can't understand why she hasn't been there yet.

Last August, when she made that comment, I wrote the local tourist bureau there, and they kindly sent me a bunch of illustrated brochures inside a big manila envelope.

It looked like a great place for a family vacation.

It had it's day I suppose.  But today, there is no way I would go into any part of Mexico or Baja.

  Being a tourist in a resort destination is risky.  Even if the drug lords leave you alone, the police can be almost as bad.  Too many people have driven down there, never to be heard from again.  Even if you get stoped for speeding or a fender bender, you could wind up in prison for days with all kinds of ugly.

And there is a very high mortality rate among reporters, or someone perceived to be nosing around and asking questions.
