that includes both the good and the bad, mostly because even with the good stuff, the charitable stuff, it comes with huge negatives attached, such as not adopting out to gay couples, not distributing condoms, and lying about the effectiveness of condoms, etc.

Frankly, if the Catholic Church doesn't want to change its official stances on things like LGBT rights, contraception, abortion, misogyny, etc. Fine, that is their right as a religion to be as ass backwards as they want.

However, they should keep it within their churches, want to run a hospital or charity? Follow the rules of the greater secular society, oh, and do NOT try to change those rules, your medieval morality has no place in a pluralistic democracy.

My biggest problem with the Catholic Church is that it tries to get its fingers in everything, and tries to force its immorality on everyone else, hell I consciously left them so I wouldn't have to deal with that bullshit anymore.

Am I saying its unique? hell no, I can say the same and worse about the Mormon Church, some Orthodox Jewish sects, Fundamentalist Christians and Muslims, the Religious Right in general, etc. The Catholic Church just happens to be the biggest single religious organization in question and it is very influential in the United States.

The Catholic Church has NEVER tried to force ANYTHING on me. NEVER. Not even once. The Democrat Party and their bootlicking yes-men at DU have tried to force me to accept the abomination of homosexuality as normal and fun, tried to force me to accept the stealing of my money to buy condoms and the like for people too sorry to work, tried to force me to accept the murder of unborn babies as normal and fun, tried to force me to believe women should receive some super-secret status that constantly changes, etc.

The Catholic Church can't change it's position on moral issues and remain a church in any relevant sense of the word.

Exactly!  And any straying from God's Word is not a part of Christianity. 

For example, killing abortion "doctors" is not an act born from a Christian God.  It is a sin and completely against God's word.   But the DUmmie goons like to use such as ammo against all Christians.

On the other hand, take Islam for instance, cutting off a head or two is part of the "religion", and their "god" liked to diddle kids, etc......it is all A-OK with the DUmbass goons.

Yup, also left one son with one ear larger then the other.     I lived in fear I would get a call from the school I had 3 enrolled by the nuns to bitch me out as I had not noticed one child wore sneakers to school.   Dress code was dress shoes.    

I love those days, I never had to fight with the kids over homework, they did from fear of the Nuns if they didn't do the work.   Kids can fool parents about homework but they could never fool the Nuns.

Wonderful education, if I slapped a kid upside the head for doing something stupid I could go to jail, the Nuns did worse then that and terrorised the kids into not only wanting to please them but realising they no choice but to do as told.  So my kids learned , they could run away from home but the Nuns would track you down and return them home with big knots on the top of their head.   A child swears at their mother, a call to the school and the child never does that again.

Much help in a military family when the father is gone for months at a time.  Kids do tend to overcome the Mother but, add a Nun into the mix that the child can not threaten or rebel against, some one that can deal out corporal punishment with no fear of being Jailed for it------Priceless.

Love Me these Nuns, they saved my sanity all too often.  They never took the side of the Child they were on the parents side and the kids knew they could not manipulate the Parents.
