Yep those opioids will really stop you up.

Geez will they open poop centers for people to donate their --healthy--Poop for transplant into others , akin to donating blood??

Possibility's are endless.

As if they weren't full of enough shit already, they're packing more in.

Seriously, I suppose if it were a matter of life or death, any of us would submit to it.

But man, I'd spend a lot of time contemplating my life, wondering what the Hell I did wrong with it, to have to have such a thing done.

It would have to be a very serious condition....a life or death situation and absolutely no other cure.

If it was the difference between life and death, I think most people would grab a spoon and eat a big pile of it, if it would save their lives.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

It makes sense for situations where a person's natural bacteria has been wiped out.  I don't think that constipation is a suggested situation for using it.  A better idea would be to drink plenty of water and lots of fiber, and maybe start incorporating a stool softener.

One of the worse problems for older patients in nursing homes is to become clogged up, the stool is rock hard and only way to clear it is to manually dig it out.

This like bed sores is poor nursing care, the patient has not had fluid intake monitored and is really dehydrated.    These patients may as well have cement in the intestines.  I have seen this only in patients that stay in bed 24/7.

These patients are on a all baby food diet, no fiber really and few will eat much of the food as there is a no salt order.    There are some nurses that do go against the diet orders to add salt to the good awful food just to get the patient to eat.

When one is over 80 years in age and the body fails but the brain is alive and active, sentenced to a life in bed 24/7 and no way to communicate to anyone, then throw out the rules, give them a shot of Wiskey, Salt on their food and a back rub each night.   Insure they are re hydrated even if by IV, spar them Hell on earth.

Now I'm worried, really worried.

I've never worked in a hospital or a nursing home, or worked with a bedridden person (other than kicking their ass and telling them to get out of it).

Your allegation, which is the first I've heard of it, sounds ominously credible, believable, possible.

But please tell me it's a joke, right?

Unfortunately, what Vesta described does happen.  And, unfortunately, it is most often (though not always) a preventable condition.

It's better if a nurse can manually remove the stool.  Usually the nurse just has to get things started and the person's natural impulses kick in.  Sometimes surgery is required, and sometimes the surgery results in an colostomy.  Sometimes temporary.  Sometimes permanent.

Given the totality of "what can go wrong with a human body," it is amazing any of us can function!

It's great that we have the "Ignore user" feature.

You don't see posts by people you ignore unless someone quotes them.

But it sure would be nice to have "Ignore thread", so we could delete abominations like this one.

Personally, I want to be upwind when someone finally "pops" that cork.  :bolt:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Gee Longview, I think I should stay away from the topic of how cubits Ulcers are occasionally treated even today.

As one gets older certain bodily functions slow down. Had one older gentleman get really upset as he usually goes at 3pm every day and came into the ED at 3:45 because he hadn't gone yet.

BTW vesta it is decubitus ulcer.

Thanks for the correction on my typo.

Ah the joys of getting old, Poor Frank has NO idea what his mother had to face as a Nurse.

Men in general are Sissy's about all this, too much to think about happening to them as they get older.

Easy to understand, woman deal with personal spilling of blood every 28 days and do not die.   We woman are the major ones that care for both the young and the old and get use to cleaning up after them.

I want to have some fun with Frank here.

Big city and a homeless man was brought in with ulcers on his calf, flesh dead almost to the bone.   The wound had become infested with maggots in the last few days.   The staff just wrapped his leg up maggots included and allowed the maggots to eat away the dead flesh to allow new healthy flesh to grow.  Calls to the CDC sent new sterile maggots to replace those that died and with little care except for the maggots the dead flesh was replaced with new healthy flesh.

Leaches those nasty bloodsuckers found in fresh water lakes are on hand for some brain surgery where the veins are too small to clamp off.

All these nasty things we wonder what God was thinking when he placed them on earth, every Year we realise it is up to us to find a use for them.

Sorry Frank, I am sure there is more I can turn you green with,  Now about tape worms.

Why doesn`t this person just go to a queer bath house with a sign on their back saying "ENTER HERE" and an arrow pointing down under it.
They will get all the fecal transplants they could ever want.

You know, I'm with GOBUCKS on this; I keep on hoping nobody'll comment any more, causing this thread to slip further down the page and ultimately into oblivion.

When I originally saw this campfire, I was so startled that I never considered the consquences of bringing it here.
