liberal N proud (42,822 posts) How to modify an NRA bumper sticker [View all]Last edited Fri Feb 15, 2013, 09:10 AM USA/ET - Edit history (2)I pulled in to the drive at my fathers house. Sitting in the drive was this huge pick up truck and on the back was 2 bumper stickers, Romney/Ryan and an NRA sticker similar to this one: Get some white-out and paint it over the work DEFEAT. (Poster here has picture of NRA anti-Obama bumper sticker.)The sticker now reads: DEFEND FREEDOM OBAMA There is just a white bar between the two. Just don't get caught by the vehicle owner, they are NRA members after all and will shoot to kill!

Light House (224 posts) 4. You're urging people to commit a crime.QuoteLast edited Fri Feb 15, 2013, 09:59 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)That's called defacing private property and it's a misdemeanor. You could also be charged with vandalism. I urge people not to do this no matter how much it pisses someone off.

GreenStormCloud (9,424 posts) It should be against TOS to advocate destruction of private property.Last edited Fri Feb 15, 2013, 01:16 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) In this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=2379501 The poster advocates defacing the bumper sticker of an RW. That is wrong. To have a civil society the rule of law must be obeyed and our political opponent's rights must be respected just as we expect our own rights to be respted. Advocating defacing someone's bumper sticker is wrong, even if it is a message that you don't like. That should be a TOS violation. We should not tolerate people who advocate violating other's rights.

backscatter712 (18,467 posts) 8. So much for advocating civil disobedience.Last edited Fri Feb 15, 2013, 01:33 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Police in areas like New York City have considered chalking sidewalks to be "vandalism". Should talking about chalking sidewalks now be a TOS violation?

Starboard Tack (7,727 posts) 25. Looks like it was amended, not destroyed.I thought amendments made things better. If not, we could re-amend the first and second. The sticker was not part of the vehicle. Whoever put it there was exercising his/her 1A right right to free speech, as was the guy who changed it.

No, that's not how that works, exactly, DUmbass. Did anybody reply to that in meta? They always tie themselves into pretzels when they justify bad behavior. I could say, "I believe I'll exercise my 1A, and make a bold statement by hitting Starboard Tack in the face with a brick. I got my rights!!!"

I'm trying to understand why a DUmmy would want to vandalize a gunowner's property...
