How to modify an NRA bumper sticker [View all]
Last edited Fri Feb 15, 2013, 09:10 AM USA/ET - Edit history (2)

I pulled in to the drive at my fathers house. Sitting in the drive was this huge pick up truck and on the back was 2 bumper stickers, Romney/Ryan and an NRA sticker similar to this one:

Get some white-out and paint it over the work DEFEAT.

(Poster here has picture of NRA anti-Obama bumper sticker.)

The sticker now reads:
DEFEND FREEDOM
OBAMA

There is just a white bar between the two. Just don't get caught by the vehicle owner, they are NRA members after all and will shoot to kill!

One frequently sees this type of stuff over there.  Some of them think that they have a right to destroy stuff that isn't theirs if it offends their politics.

In fairness to DU several posters take DUer "liberal N stupid proud" to task and forced him to edit his post.  This is far from the first time I have seen destruction of property promoted.

Lousy lie.

No bongs.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

So childish.  LiberalandStupid, you're a weirdo.   ::)

Now, let's think of the practicality.  When's the last time any of you used Wite-Out?  It comes in a little bottle, with a teeny little brush, suitable for delicate fixes on typing paper.  It would take you a couple hours to Wite-Out that entire bar.  Meanwhile, you may be liable to hear that "scariest sound known to man."

That's called defacing private property and it's a misdemeanor.
You could also be charged with vandalism.
I urge people not to do this no matter how much it pisses someone off.

There is a meta thread on it where many feel more free to talk.

It should be against TOS to advocate destruction of private property.

 In this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=2379501

The poster advocates defacing the bumper sticker of an RW. That is wrong. To have a civil society the rule of law must be obeyed and our political opponent's rights must be respected just as we expect our own rights to be respted. Advocating defacing someone's bumper sticker is wrong, even if it is a message that you don't like.

That should be a TOS violation. We should not tolerate people who advocate violating other's rights.

Police in areas like New York City have considered chalking sidewalks to be "vandalism". Should talking about chalking sidewalks now be a TOS violation?

This right here is why I don't have stickers on my truck.

Not that I'm overly concerned about some filthy hippy defacing them - but that beating the shit out of them for doing so is considered "Illegal".

Notice how none of the DUmmies make the connection that they are censoring someone else's right to free speech (albeit not in an official capacity, just a douchebag capacity)? I thought they were all about their ideas being better, but apparently, they're just about silencing opposition.

No, that's not how that works, exactly, DUmbass.  Did anybody reply to that in meta?  They always tie themselves into pretzels when they justify bad behavior.  I could say, "I believe I'll exercise my 1A, and make a bold statement by hitting Starboard Tack in the face with a brick.  I got my rights!!!"

Amendments DO make things better. "1a" guarantees your right to write absolutely stupid shit, I mean Nadin stupid. "2a" guarantees my right to shoot you ****ers in the ass if you trespass on my property. I know you fascists want to take away guns but what amendment do you want added the the first? Free speech for thee and not for me? All leftists are allowed to deface the property (and it IS the truck owner's property you freaking idiot...he bought the damn thing) when they don't like the message? BTW, go ahead and try to amend them. You won't get close to finding enough states to ratify.

Let's think about this a little bit more. The DUmmie whited out the word 'defeat'. Now the sticker appears to read 'DEFEND FREEDOM OBAMA'.

Doesn't this mean that the bumper sticker now commands Obama to defend freedom. If you are commanding him to defend freedom it means that he is not already defending freedom.

So this DUmmie has personally accused Obama of not defending freedom. It's is essentially a put down of Obama. Since Obama is half black and the writing on the sticker is white, I think it would also qualify as racist.

The DUmmie is a racist Obama hater.

Poor little liberal...this was the best he could do. All he knows is the anti-gun, pro-O'bama rhetoric. Its not like he can go debate his point of view in a civilized respectable way, so all he can resort to is vandalism with white out.
