So, bye bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry
Them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye, singing...
This'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die

I was 4.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

My mom was a teenager when it happened.

Waylon Jennings almost died on that plane. (He was Buddy Holly's bass player at that time) Gave his seat up I believe to Richardson.

My generation's version of this was the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash. It happened on my sister's birthday. I was 7.

My father would have turned 18 a few months before, but he prefers Perry Como to Buddy Holly.

Not the same thing - or rather, if you post your actual birthday for God and the world to see, don't be surprised if you have a problem.

I see that on FB all the time and it amazes me. I think birthdays here (if you elect to show it) are somewhat entrenched within your profile, right?
