Now this is a topic we should really push. Both red and blue state citizens will NOT like this.
Republicans will be in hot water if their constituents don't get their expected refund.

Obama controls the purse strings when it comes to disbursing tax revenues.  He's already holding social security and military pay hostage, so why not tax refunds too.

Brit Hume has been hammering the point that not raising the debt ceiling does not mean the US defaults on it's debts.  It's entirely up to Obama whether the US defaults or not.  There is plenty of tax revenues to pay the required debt payments.  Just not enough for continued new spending.

Without a doubt they will.  Boehner has no spine whatsoever. Another problem is that the MSM is squarely in Obama's corner and won't let the truth be heard.

I am so pissed at Obama's ego.   he says it's irresponsible to not pay our debts.  It's IRRESPONSIBLE to make debts knowing we don't have the damn money.  He is screwing over all of us and our children.

Um, not true.  I file Single-Zero, and da gubmint takes out far more than they need, and when I do my taxes, I have mortgage interest, etc., to factor into that.

I'd like to file with enough dependents to have less taken out, but not so much I owe my first-born to them in April.

Cause I don't like giving the government a year-long interest-free loan.

I was referring to those on welfare, etc. that pay nothing in but file a tax return and get a refund anyway......welfare moms here in the projects are the first to file and get thousands back.

Remember when Bush lowed taxes on those that actually paid federal taxes that the democrats raised hell because their voters that didn't pay taxes didn't get an increase in their freebie tax return?

Oh yeah--I know what you mean about the EIC crowd.  God knows there's enough of them around here.  Get a job and quit it before their income cracks the EIC limit for however many, etc...

Don't get me started.  Last year I ran into a kid in the local watering hole who was blowing HUNDREDS on a bar tab that night because he got (he bragged) $7K back.  I knew this kid didn't have a pot to piss in.

Well, actually, you could say that neither the muslim, nor W, nor any other president created even a dime of the debt.

As far as I know, we don't spend money, or obligate the country to spend money in the future, unless the Congress signs on in one way or another.

Money spent, which means debt created, by the executive branch comes from appropriations authorized by legislation.

Wars, food stamps, cash for clunkers, or socialized medicine, it can all be traced back to buckets of appropriated money.

And every alki believes the same thing.  It is called denial.  Next we can discuss co-dependency which is where the Republicans are.

If you can still file using the itemized schedule (form 1040 A) then you should claim more deductions on your employers W-4 form.  I believe there is a formula on the back of the W-4 that explains how many exemptions you can take vs amount of deductions you claim.
