Man I love it, I fully expect 100% of all shootings to come to an immediate halt if not sooner.  They sure are smart people up there.  I am sure they have data that supports the fact that a pistol grip on a rifle is a real problem...I have been telling folks for years, get rid of pistol grips and watch gun violence plummet.

One thing missing from the bill was a complete ban on leather gloves.  Leather gloves are the next challenge for congress, outlaw them and all gun violence will end...

Thanks, that is actually my Retirement present from my staff when I retired from the Army...its my snake gun.  I love to get in some real backwoods and work the creeks and rivers for water mocs...ranchers love it as their calves don't get bit in the face and often die in the spring.

Killing snake in the water is not easy.  Just about only  head shot will do, soon as the bullet hits the water it diverts its path and loses most of its energy, snakes being round the bullet will rarely penetrate the body.

Its a great survival weapon you can drop a lot of game with it suitable for eating (rabbit, squirrel, etc), one of my all time fav weapons...

Sounds like it would outlaw almost all large-caliber automatic pistols, except the 1911/1911A1 with a stock magazine.  If their definition of 'Magazine' isn't limited to detachable box magazines,  then it also hits the ubiquitous SKS (Which they probably do intend) but also virtually every tube-feed .22 semiauto rifle ever made, as well as the Garand.  Actually the magazine limit may stand independently of the weapon it fits, which would make SMLEs and many others impossible to own.

One of our lawyers here had a copy of the bill, and he went over some of the salient points.

It appears that SKS and Garand rifles are not covered by the ban, as they do not have detachable magazines.  However, since there's no rimfire exemption, a Ruger 10/22 is covered.  All of them in possession by Boy Scout troops in NYS are now illegal.  My Nylon 66 is not covered, as it is a tube-fed weapon.

There's definitely some 'points of interpretation' here.  More as we read through the thing.

In my case, I keep mine, my mags, folding stock, pistol grip the whole deal, I UNCONCERNED about any law, rules, regs or anything that spews out of bammy or pelosi, reid, schumers mouth.  I follow the 2nd Amendment and its quite clear...'shall not be infringed'!

The ONLY way to get your hands on my weapons is to cross my barbed wire fence onto sovereign American and Texas and 17 Oaks soil and 'this I will defend'.  Unlike Waco, I won't wait for you to send in tanks and helicopters, if I can see you, you are on my property.

I'm sure NYers who appreciate our Constitution and own that or any other firearm will keep them.  If I lived in NY you can be damn sure the laws stripping me of my constitutional rights would be ignored.   Let me know when when criminals of all stripes are totally disarmed.
