Have any polls been made in upstate NY on these gun control laws?

I am in northern New York.  A largely rural/wooded area.  No polls were conducted, and this legislation was rammed through at lightning speed, in order to avoid the public clamor.  (They came right out and said that).  All the northern senators voted against it (16 of them).  The House Rep in my area voted for it, but she's a dimbulb dem.  God is she dumb.

I'm livid about it, and a lot of people are.  They can't believe it was done so fast with no public input.  There are countless unintended consequences to play out.  WTF.  I think some of this ought to end up in the Supreme Court.

Not that I know of, but this law was run through so fast that people didn't even have time to voice an opinion on it.  By the time most people even knew about it, the senate had already voted for it.  Like Karin said below, I'm in the western part of the state and people are livid about it here too.  My senator and assemblyman voted against it.

So what about the Glocks the cops carry? Who's going to sell them replacement magazines and new weapons when they need them if they can't buy them in NYS or get them online?

I'm sure there's some sort of 'Current law enforcement officer' exception, there always is in these bullshit laws.  And there's always someone willing to sell to them, since they're legal...of course if they treat it like their current concealed carry law, they won't extend that to even current law enforcement officers from any other states who happen transit their little hell-hole or go there on their own department's business.

I agree this is most likely the way it will happen. I also think that no city, state, county or local Government Employee should be exempt from any law the citizens are held to. Why should a police officer be afforded more protection than the citizens?

I understand that today all across NY state criminals are taking all their ten round magazines and removing three rounds from each.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

As of today there isn't an exception for anyone ,including cops of any level. They claim a fix will be added but since they rammed it through so quick and the public knows what is going on then who knows what will happen but I 'l be it goes to court.

It's not playing too well in upstate NY.  Unfortunately, what those freaks in the city want, the rest of us have to suffer with.

Same way in my area of PA, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Erie, Scranton.........all demo cities, the rest of PA mostly conservative.

You must admit anyone that chooses to live in a place where a loud fart will contaminate an entire neighborhood, can't be the sharpest tack in the box to begin with.

The letters to the editor are starting to pour in to the local papers.

The idiot legislators had 20 minutes to review the bill, and understand nary a thing in it.  It's a cluster all around, and I hope it blows up in all their faces in a big way.

Unfortunately it will blow up in everyone else's faces first.

Hi, cropper.

Obama did say small-town Americans could be "bitter," and that they "cling to guns" and religion and other traditions. He actually said that those feelings were tied to being disappointed by politicians’ empty economic promises.
