I'm K&Ring this from over the weekend.
For companies in survival mode-which is nearly all of them now--the first thing you do is get rid of the deadwood ASAP. They simply can't afford to have tagalong DUmmies taking up space and cash. Plenty of people still out there with fire in the belly, who don't think that profit is a dirty word, and who actually like to work.
When are things going to start getting better for all of us?
I love that little quote. Look how sad, plaintive, and bleating it is. Look how hopeless and desperate. It's also infantile, waiting for
someone to do
something for it.
For you DUmmies with jobs. On the annual eval, in the section for "initiative," do they often write, "needs tremendous improvement in this area...does not live up to expectations..." ?
