Small problem with OS's "bouncy".
He mentioned OnStar. OnStar only calls YOU in a wreak IF the airbag deploys.
If the car is "undriveable", then, yes, he hit hard enough to deploy airbags.
But........................................he said they did NOT.
Come on, Steve! You can do better than THIS!
I went back and reread OS's bouncy.
He didn't actually
say OnStar called him. He could have reached up and pushed the button, assuming he wasn't too grievously injured (snicker).
The other car forgot they were on a way way street. They turned (improper turn) into me. I T-boned them. I have a sore shoulder from the seat belt. I wasn't going fast enough to open the air bag. They all 3 seemed fine. I didn't have direct contact with them.
I laughed when I read this part. Steve didn't talk to the driver of the other car. He was too busy calling OnStar and his lawyer.
If Chief Weeping Water Buffalo didn't have direct contact with the other driver, how would he know the other driver "forgot they were on a one way street?" Maybe they recognized him from
www.electstevedawes.com and tried to run him off the road.
I'm going to take a stab at reconstructing the accident from Steve's poorly worded description:
Vehicle 1, driven by person unknown, was southbound in the right lane of X Street, which is a one-way street. Vehicle 2, driven by the The Boss Tweed of Bellevue, was southbound in the
left lane of X Street,
in the blind spot of Vehicle 1. The driver of Vehicle 2 was listening to NPR, playing with his OnStar, and looking at his iPhone, while drinking coffee and clipping his toenails. At the intersection with Y Street, Vehicle 1 made a left turn from the right lane, crossing the path of Vehicle 2. Vehicle 2 struck the driver's side of Vehicle 1. Low speed impact, no injuries.
