the party of mean-> Senate Republicans Vote Down International Disabilities Treaty
The U.S. Senate today killed the ratification of a United Nations treaty designed to improve the prospects of those with disabilities around the world by a vote of 61-38, ending the best chance of any significant treaty making its way through the lame duck session. All “no†votes came from Republicans and the measure fell just five votes short of achieving the two-thirds of the Senate approval required for passage.
In voting down the Convention on the Rights of People with Disability, Senate Republicans have rejected a treaty based principally around the United States’ own Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which passed 91-6 in 1990. The major provisions of the treaty were modeled after ADA’s requirements of providing equal access to all citizens regardless of disability; it’s passage also would have given the United States a seat on a committee charged with aiding in implementation.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10021926969Just goes to show you that all you have to do is label a bill or treaty with a title that sounds good and the DUmmies will support it blindly.
I bet not of the DUmmies could tell you one thing that would be in that treaty.
I am glad that the Senate had enough votes to keep us from giving away another piece of our sovereignty today. If this had passed the UN would be able to require all disabled babies that are born to be registered with the UN. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that registering usually leads to an outcome that is not good.

1. Way to go GOP. Good way to lose another voting block and their families and supporters.
Did you want to start kicking canes out from under people now too? Maybe take some of those wheel-chair ramps out of public places. Hell, if you can't pull yourself up why should you be able to be there?
Sad part is a lot of them will probably buy the spin that you are spewing. The senate did nothing that will effect the disabled in a bad way.

3. the GOP voted this down because they believed the UN would take away their sovereignty
which would effect their ability to home school kids.
part of the nut Agenda 21 conspiracy.
How do you govern with people like this?
Yeah how do you govern when people won't sign away our sovereignty? It gets in the way of your socialistic dreams of a USA that is no longer a sovereign country. Agenda 21 is not a conspiracy, it is something that is happening and it is something that is not good.
