Update: I Was Elected Mayor!

I haven't posted in a while because I've been exceptionally busy, meeting with the DOT, having transitional meetings, and basically catching up. Here's the story:

Earlier in the fall, I posted a campaign fundraising appeal on DU, only to take it back the same day because, as it turned out, no one else filed and I had no opposition. (Without opposition, I saw no need to raise money or fill out an extra ream of paperwork about it.) Long story short: there was a man on the city council who once refused to replace the basketball goal on the city court because he thought "black kids would come and slam on it." When he found out that I was running for mayor, he resigned. In January, I'll be sworn in as mayor of a small town in Georgia, making me a) the youngest mayor in Georgia, b) perhaps the first autistic mayor in the U.S., and c) maybe be the first DUer elected in the Deep South, but not so sure about that one. If not, I'm sure that someone will come along to correct me.

Once I'm sworn in, I may need the help of DUers who are familiar with disability rights work. I'm going to be on a public safety committee and I'm not happy about how the definition of a "suspicious-looking" person and an autistic person are essentially the same. I think there are a lot of innocent people in the prison system because of these.

Overall, I'm pretty excited about the opportunity to serve as mayor, and would like to thank DUers for your support. Until then, during the next few weeks, I'll be taking on a research project that I have wanted to do for while: transcribing every Jimmy Carter speech in order to make them available to the public. If you would like to support this endeavor, I have already made a collection of early Obama speeches available for the Kindle HERE.

Yeah, I know, but it gets tiring after seven years of dealing with this grotesque paranoia shit; no "freeper" at no time, ever, interfered with the well-being of the late red round one, or of poor stupid Beth and her accomplices.

I wish I could sue for slander, the whole bunch of them, who persist in repeating lies for years and years and years.

Funny thing, y'all, I cannot find an election for mayor of Bluffton, GA, this past election day that has been certified by the GA SOS nor do I see anywhere that it was even being tracked.
