IF that is true, I wonder if the state would be interested that he is well enough to be a mayor and work in a traveling show.

As for the social Christianity thing, it sounds like DU code for social justice/liberal agenda, not belief in the Word.

I can think of nothing more heartless then a bunch of lazy, useless bastards mooching out of funds the public originally allotted to take care of the disabled and elderly.

You assholes use the disabled and many other groups as human shields of cover to hide your own laziness and other bad behaviors. Go to hell! :bird:

And as someone who has a person under my care with severe autism and knowing many other higher functioning individuals,I can say without a doubt that this gentleman does NOT appear to be autistic. He might be a little socially awkward though I have my doubts since he can perform in front of(his words) 10,000 people at a time. I can't even do that and I'm NOT autistic. If he's autistic, then he got a diagnosis he's been riding since he's 4 and obviously has improved DRAMATICALLY since the initial diagnosis. My hope is he is honest now about his abilities so that he isn't taking resources away from an individual who is lower functioning. I also do not liek someone like this representing autistic people. It gives a false view of what autism is like. SEVERE autistics simply do NOT function to that level of ability. He does not speak for everyone with those issues by a longshot. As I said before, his 'offense' with being viewed as suspicious may very well be lifesaving for the person with severe autism. It was in my son's case and I'm eternally grateful someone out there recognized he had issues and approached him. Had they worried about 'offending him' he'd likely be dead right now.  :bird:

I just can't see where being a mayor in Bluffton is any onerous responsibility.

Well, there's the zoning ordinances to worry about. Such as, what's the maximum number of rusty cars on jacks allowed in each front yard. Or whether banjo playing is allowed within earshot of the river (scares the canoeing tourists away).
