It seems to me that the entire country was well warned that lay-offs would follow the re-election of Pres. Obama.  The DUmmies truly are like toddlers...when warned about consequences, they continue their actions and then   when the resulting consequences appear.

What is discouraging is that over 50% of those voting are evidently not smart enough to figure out the very clear statements made by a number of business owners and CEOs before the election.  But they are the "educated, informed, intelligent" group.  Right?  


Oh, and by the way, I heard CEOs making these same statements about lay-offs and moving overseas on NPR over and over.  The DUmmies have NO excuses.

5. They really aren't doing the Republicans any favors.

The average person sees these tantrums and is reminded of how much they despise most corporate executives.
Coupled with Romney's "I like firing people" line and it makes these people look cruel and petty.

My husband is the president and co-founder of a small company. He AGONIZES over things like this. He had to lay off six people in 2009 and it was awful. He knew that these were people's lives he was affecting, their dreams, their families. He had already taken a substantial pay cut the year before, along with the other executives, hoping to avoid the layoffs. I just can't believe the flippant, callous way these people are talking about lay offs. It is disgusting and immoral. Never mind that it is also a bad business practice.

If you hear about the business owners explaining WHY they are doing their cuts, most of the time you hear the fear and trembling in their voices. Invariably they usually say that they THEMSELVES are ok, but they are traumatic over what's going to happen to their employees' families, and that is their real sadness.

Of course, you wouldn't know that. You just portray them as a bunch of sneering cigar-smoking white dudes looking to take away the candy from babies to spite your Bamster. Won't cut it, dear.

I predict that millions of small businesses that have fewer than 15 employees will cease to exist before the end of the year. That most companies with 60-100 employees will convert 80% of their staff to 26-28 hour weeks. Other companies that are not over 300 people will convert large numbers of staff to sub 28 hours/wk. The one size fits all tax care act just costs too much and there is too much danger of a small paperwork screw up costing a huge fine. The taxcare act is going to add dead wood to both HR and acctg for busy work to keep another bunch of bureaucrat regulators and the heavy baggage/low output support workers.

It is like forcing a $3/hour raise. For some companies that will be a 30% raise. It will make many businesses uncompetitive unless they make plans to not be under the regulations and taxes.

As to the big defense contractors, Boieng, et al. they were told by the 0bama regime to hold layoff notices until after the election even though it was against the law.

DUmmies believe that the main purpose of a business is to provide livelihood and sustenance for the employees. The second function is to pay a hefty tax to provide for the social programs in a community. Profit is way down the list.

Their business model is buy a 1/4 pound of pot for 400. Sell three ounces at 140 each and get a free one for them self with enough extra cash to buy a jug of Ben and Jerry's, Wavy Gravy, ice cream.

No business in there to make your life easier . Businesses are in business to make profits so that they can hire and to expand and most importantly make profits to be able to do that. You tax or regulate a business to much they close down or lay off people. That is the DU model of how to run things and that is why many businesses go down the drain. Catholic organizations will soon be fined $100 per day per employee for not covering birth control.  I believe that it will begin in 2013.  You can bet that a lot of those organizations are looking at their financing and figuring out how to cover that.

4. Firing over taxes makes no sense either

Don't these business owners understand that employee wages are tax deductible.

Stupid dummie... I'm sure they do. These business owners have already got that figured in to their margins which are probably razor thin. Maybe if we had been in a boom economy for the last four years, it might be different. But after the last four years, most businesses are hanging on by the skin of their teeth.  Now comes along more taxes, more regs, etc . Well dummie... most small business owners will look at their margin, their revenue stream, etc, and will probably decide they just can't make it and close.

I know a guy, good friend of mine, runs a small telecommunication/IT company. Got about 15 full time employees. He told me he is thinking about just shutting it down and retiring. He said it is just getting too hard to make payroll anymore. His big clients have cut back and that is affecting him. So there are 15 families that are gonna go on welfare.

I know another guy, went to high school with him, that runs a tree cutting service. Told me that if the derecho hadn't hit around here back in June and the power company hadn't hired his crews to help in tree removal, he would have had to lay off most of his crew and maybe wouldn't have survived.

I know another guy, runs a small construction company, that did close. Had that company for 25 years.

I could go on and on. You get the idea.

Consequences dummie. They matter. You wanted it, you got it, you own it. Ain't gonna be no equal outcome now. This is gonna trickle down and eventually it will affect you.

Dummies, listen to me and listen good. Hard times are coming. Really hard times. I will survive. I have before and never took a penny from the government.  Grandad and dad lived thru the great depression. Taught me a lot when times were hard back in the late 70's.

Just as an aside... I blame the election of obumble to a second term on the MSM. If they would have shown half the sob stories they did when Bush had the economy at 5.5 percent, then obumbles would never have been reelected. You know it and I know it.

Lets see...you voted for someone who hasn't passed a budget in 4 years...added 6 trillion in new debt...and is going to preside over two of the largest tax increases in history...one of which is just 50 days away.

The businesses have no choice.  If you'd stayed awake or even attended your economics class you'd understand why these business owners have to do this.

Under Obamacare, companies with 50 or more full-time employees either have to provide them with government-approved health insurance policies, or pay a per-employee fine. Further, the fine kicks in at the 31st employee, not the 51st, and it starts at $2,000 per year per employee. It goes up later. Companies, therefore, are discouraged from having full-time employees, or at least 50 or more of them.
