Believe it.  This has been a while coming, but we finally crossed the threshold.  The height of the US empire was 1988.  We've been in steady decline since then, which has accelerated the last 4 and will continue to do so.

What do you do in a declining empire, especially when you're one of the ones who contributed so all the moochers could sit around and do nothing?  You loot it.  It's not going to be here but for a few more decades, so why not.  We're the ones who paid for it, not the left.  We might as well confiscate it.

Schade you know they won't. Sequestration is most likely for DOD in January. It will be DOD that gets hit--the military. They will never cut the entitlements.They will make more moochers and weaken our national defenses at the same time. God help us all. We are practically giving our country to the Muzzies.

In 4 years, there's going to be even more moochers than their are now.  A lot more.  We lost the Latino vote, we lost the women vote, and unless you want the Republican party to make a whole lot of concessions to these groups, like amnesty and becoming pro-choice and start giving them money, they're going to stay put with the group that's giving them freebies.  That's what politics has become now; giving away money to get voters.  Unemployment won't matter, gas prices won't matter, inflation won't matter.  It didn't this time.  These are whores and they have a sugar daddy.  Eventually the well will run dry, but what do the Dem pols care?  They'll be dead and gone by then and the country will be in ruins.

I'm going to take some time to review how I want to deal with this, but I'm not going to deny the reality.  The Dems give money away, and they'll keep winning national elections.

I fully agree, and H5.  Charity is going to be cut waaaay back.  I told my wife this morning, before she left, that I fear that the tax increases that are coming because of Obamacare are going to cause us to lose the townhouse that we just bought.  Last night, I looked in on my daughter who was sleeping, and I wondered just what kind of country she was going to be left with.  Not a good one, IMO.  I've discussed, via PM on the board, my situation with another CCer who I won't reveal, who told me that he feels that there's a 50% chance that we will have to take up arms to defend ourselves, within the next three years.  I agree with him.

I didn't expect the USA to become the USSA this fast.
