Well, not yet.

The way that works is once enough states sign on to the law to bring their combined total up to half or better of the outstanding EVs, the law goes into effect. There is something like 9 states signed up so far.

I think that whole idea might backfire on liberals that want it.  There are thousands of conservatives in states like NY, Illinois, Massholistan, and California that don't vote simply because their votes don't matter.

If that were changed, then I think some blue states would start seeing much higher turnout of conservatives.

Well, it looks as if it's pretty much a draw, a stalemate.

Something's going to give, though, sooner or later.

The Democrats probably keep the White House and the Senate.

We still got the House.

Which is where things stood yesterday.

Too bad for the primitives.

Well unfortunately the White house is still in Nobamas hands but for now it is only for another four years.

Well, I know this is of scant comfort to many here, but it might be some comfort.

Omaha Steve's hopes appear dashed.....again.

The big guy thought for sure the Democrat running for Congress in Omaha, and Bob Kerrey would make it.

He was positive.  Absolutely certain.

Nebraska remained true to its roots, and got even redder today.

There's only 60% of the votes in, but Deborah Fischer (R) pounded Kerrey (D) in what appears to be a landslide.

Too bad for the primitives; they found the presence of the now-retiring (D) from Nebraska irksome, but now they got to deal with a bigger burr under their saddle.

Even though I am from Iowa I take comfort in that bit of news and the fact all of Iowa's Republicans are still in office.

Well, with 77% of the vote in now, it's a red landslide out here.

I really expected that this night was going to turn out differently.  I guess that we really did pass the point of no return.

Sad but true.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Elections are not the only thing that changes the course of America; there's all sorts of economic, social, and cultural influences that change America too.

And we now have a seriously-weakened president, given the narrowness of his win.

Too bad for the primitives.

Okay now, everybody, go into a normal and usual and healthy funk for the next few days because decent and civilized people lost today--take a little vacation, rest up, get mellow--and then come back restored and refreshed to the DUmpster, and give Hell to the primitives.

That's true, very true.

That's a very deep concern--but on the other hand, it's the only really important one we need to worry about, and adapt strategies for dealing with it.

On all other matters, Barack Milhous, because this election was hardly a strong reaffirmation of his leadership, is in a more fragile, brittle, position than before.  He's wholly on the defensive, with this one single deep concern.

Let's add 20 million illegal aliens to the voter roles, which obama will try to do, by legalizing them under the guise of adding them to the tax rolls. Once that happens, and they qualify for free handouts, who do you think that they'll vote for? They'll vote just like the people voted tonight, handouts instead of jobs.

Tonight's victory wasn't a victory for obama. It was a victory for the democrat party. The democrat party could have put a "To be determined later" in the slot against Romney and still won. The entitled class voted for the party, not the person.

Okay, folks.

Well, it didn't turn out the way we wished it would.

But remember, it's an offense against God to lose hope.

We held what we had, while the ground underneath the other side is crumbling.

No mandate, and the piper's coming for his pay, like, real soon.

I suggest we be sure the right people pay the piper; the ones who hired him, not us.

I dunno anything about financial strategies, but I suggest others with meaningful assets figure out ways and means of legally putting those resources out of reach of the kleptomaniac Democrats.  After all, rich Democrats since Joseph P. Kennedy have done it since the 1940s, and so surely the primitives would find no fault with decent and civilized people doing it too.

As for other things.

It's wholly natural, and probably healthy, to grieve after some sort of loss.  In this case, it's just best to go away for a little while--half a day, a couple of days, a couple of weeks, whatever--and allow those feelings of loss to work their way through, and out, of one's system.

conservativecave and the DUmpser will still be here, when you come back.  It's okay.

If one wants to yell and scream, yell and scream at franksolich; I can take it.

However, since yelling-and-screaming when simply written down doesn't seem to work for hearing people--they want to hear talk, not read words--if one wants, and if one's a long-time member here, I'm willing to telephone you any time (I have the whole rest of this week off work), to "listen."  It might be freakish, talking to a deaf person, but it's manageable.

Just send a personal message; I'm more than up to "listening."

But most of all, remember: it's an offense against God to lose hope.

This election was our last hope to stop the fundamental transformation of our country. This was our last chance to end 0bamacare.
So now what do we get? 4 more years of high unemployment, stagnant wages, tax increase,  higher food prices, energy prices that will necessarily skyrocket, and the rich will taxed until they either stop producing or leave the country. The worst part is, we have failed our military they have a commander in chief who cares nothing for them unless he can get a photo op. If they are under fire he can't be bothered and has to go to bed to rest up for a fundraiser.
