I'm here,Frank! I've been texting Seahorse -- everything is OK in south Jersey :)

For right now you're okay, right?

But once the eye's gone through you, you get worse wind than ever, right?

Still no power here, wind howling a lot, thank God it.s not the winter, it.s not that cold so it.s easy to deal with. Hardly any rain which is good because we should.nt have to worry about the sump pump. And no, the transformers in the sky don.t make me want to have nookie LOL.

You're apparently the last one standing.

Don't let us down.
Vesta is fine, she lives a half mile down the road, Sparky and scoobs not sure about, Durham(sister) has power, and they are twenty minutes north of them

Had calls at work tonight from MA, CT, Hagerstown MD and Fort Lee VA.

All of them were having storms, but apparently nothing - not even the storm of the century! -  gets in the way of buying jewelry!  :thatsright:

I didn't have any from NY, NJ or PA, which is highly unusual, though the agent next to me got one from Brooklyn!

Last thing I would be doing with a storm like this is watching a TV shopping show!  :o

Cold here. Temp's supposed to be in low 40's but sure seems a lot colder. Wind is blowing but it doesn't seem like enough to warrant wind advisories, but we have them. Snow flurries expected later this morning.

Hopefully we will hear from everyone soon.

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Wonderin' about Sparky and Scoobs....

Well of course I was trying to sleep before my shift tonight, so I didn't even know about Scoobie's parasailing adventure until she texted (TEXTED!!) me about it last night after I'd left for work, and read it again just now.

Damn but that woman plays things down.  She could cut off her leg with a chainsaw and go, "Meh, just scratched myself."  Glad she's no shrinking violet but damn she can be so freakin stubborn sometimes.

Must be why I love her so much.

And as far as work goes, getting in wasn't so bad.  Couple of branches down, but that was about it.  Worst we got here were 30-35 mph sustained winds and 55-60 mph gusts, which was far less than Irene, and far FAR less than the windstorm we got in early 2010.  Power flickered before I left for work at 9 PM last night, but that was about it.

Plant is now officially back on line.  Couple more nights on shift, then I roll off and (hope to) go back on days next week.  About freakin time.

We never lost power.  We pretty much hunkered and bunkered last night after the closing.  We're now homeowners!  Now, we have to get all this stufff over there.

Snow and wind over here in the OH. Big deal for us since we don't get snow this early. I've been here over a decade and never seen snow this early in the season. Wind has been howling all night and is still going at it  Praying for school delays. I don't wanna go out yet lol.

Just checking in, still out of power, from what I.ve heard it seems entire towns are out. It.s so weird, but when we went to bed we hardly heard the wind, the radio said the storm moved through fast. It.s raining right now and a little wind, when it gets light out we.re going to try and drive around and see what damage there is, and see if we can find a place with power to get some coffee and bagels.

Took m/zeit to work this am.  Only one road cloased ( probably a tree down ) and little else.   When I woke  at @ 130am there was no rain, no wind, nada.  I thought "eye"?  Nope apparently dissipated when it hit land and headed west leaving us here in NE pretty much unscathed save what I would consider normal bad storm wear and tear.  Storm of the century?  Not around here from what I can see.

Hope everyone else faired as well but suspect our folk on the Jersey shore may have had a bit of a tougher go of it.  Njpines?  How did it go down there?

Not that anyone cares  :whistling:

But we made it through!

Glad that's over, though.

Lots of thumps in the night, Hubby went out at 3 AM with big flashlite, he reports we may have siding damage, he is going to check the roof when he comes home from work. It is around a quarter to 7 AM and still as dark as the bottom of a well, big full moon dancing about among the clouds . No rain or any kind of breeze out there, spooky.

Been thinking about the TV ad for this rubber sealent, the one they seal a screen door with and use as the bottom of a boat.

I wonder how this would work on a shingled roof.  What the cost would be to buy a 50 gallon drum and spray this all over the roof  to hold the shingles in place and make the roof water, wind, and ice  proof.  Neighbors had their home re roofed at a cost out of pocket to them of over $ 4,000. bucks.   Ouch------

Starting to get light in the east and by golly I hear the call of the crows out side, most likely they are trying to gather back their group and find out who is missing.

Watching the huge fire in NY, God bless them, and the fire fighters.

Wondering on why we got off so easy, but then this neck of the woods is known as the Witch area.   Any chance all the Wiccans in the area gathered to do what ever they do to make  the storm to move west ??????    :???: :???: :???:

Not your fault.  Things get rather complicated by page six on any thread.
