The DUmmies shouldn't be so quick to celebrate Obamacare. Now, I haven't researched this particular detail but maybe someone else knows.
My DIL has seen a chiropractor for a few years for migraine headaches. She recently married my son, they moved to this area and both have new jobs with the school system; hence, they both have new BCBS insurance.
She found a new chiropractor to see for her migraines and has gone to see him three times. Her claims were rejected because she has a "pre-existing condition." She received a letter from the insurance company stating that because of the Affordable Care Act, and because her policy was not in effect before March of 2010 (those plans are "grandfathered-in"), 180 days has to pass before they will cover for a pre-existing condition.
So, if that is the case, what's up with that? I thought the pre-existing condition clause the DUmmies like to tout was already in effect but not for my DIL.
