I got Chanterelles!
SO is bringing them home from our connection. Too bad I'm allergic because they use to be near the top of my list of favorite foods..... Tonight he's having risotto and tomorrow Chicken with Chanterelle and Champagne. It's so not fair...but there's no reason for us both to suffer..... I'll sniff longingly, and remember....and come up with that list of how he's gonna make this up to me....
^^^in case one doesn't know, the imperious primitive is significantly overweight, lives on the west coast (Washington, I think), and has a gay son who's been "married," I dunno, six or half a dozen times.

I am a bit mushroom ignorant... but are they good for a cream of mushroom soup? Or is that a waste of a good Chanterelle?
I am in pursuit of the best cream of mushroom soup, so your thread caught my attention.
