 :thatsright:

With the folks at MSNBC, it always seems to come back to race. Network host Ed Schultz failed to disappoint this morning when he appeared on Thomas Roberts's 11 a.m. Eastern MSNBC Live and suggested that racism was partly to blame for President Obama's weak performance in the debate (video follows page break):

Look, I certainly am not going to bail out on the effort of the progressive movement in this country. This just makes it a little heavier lift than it is right now. It was just very frustrating to watch a guy lie to the American people and not be counter-punched because we're afraid he's going to be called an angry black man. When I see the president, I don't see a black man. I see a president who has inherited an untenable position and turned it around to a great positive to where we are right now. He has brought it down to 8 percent unemployment without any help from the Republicans.

The very next hour, on MSNBC's Now with Alex Wagner, panelist Michael Eric Dyson similarly suggested that fear of being seen as an "angry black man" held Obama back from forcefully debating and possibly winning last night's contest.

Let me just grumble that the "debates" - even going back to their modern incarnation in 1960 - are not true debates.  They are closer to side-by-side press conferences.  For what real debates are like..see Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln!

You know the affair was bad for MAObama when the MSM could not even come close to saying that he had won, or that it was even a tie!  Anything less than the disaster shown last night would have been spun into a victory or a gentleman's tie.

Al Gore and company were discussing the altitude problem with rueful smiles:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/gores-blames-altitude-obamas-debate-woes_653613.html

The next task is for us to keep pushing the unregistered who would vote for Romney to get on the ball and register!  (Assuming it is not too late)

Here's a thought, perhaps a more strategic one:

Barry and his thugs agreed to the first of three debates - subject:  Domestic Policy vis a vis THE ECONOMY - knowing that the first debate would be (so goes the bet) LEAST in the minds of voters in November.

Of course, Ryan and Plugs have their fun in the sun next Thursday, subject also Domestic and Foreign Policy.

Then the next two "debates" (agree with Ausonius in that they're not really debates, they're pressers) deal with foreign and domestic issues in a town meeting format (any bets as to how much of this is going to address Barry's alleged "success" with foreign policy?).

And then the final debate which is supposed to focus on foreign policy - again, Barry's alleged "success story."

Of course, Romney appears to be well-prepared enough to handle any subject, any format, but Barry has generally done well in a town meeting format (where the questions are scripted and determined ahead of time).

I'll say it again - this is not the time for Romney to rest on his laurels. He's gotta keep the pressure on.

I am not sure that I would take that bet: I suspect that the audience for the next debates will be much less, and that last night a good number of fence-sitters have decided for Romney, and will not bother with the next two.  58 million watched last night, up 6 million from 2008 and beating the conventions'  ratings.

But, we will see what happens!

Quite true!  I cannot imagine that he will rest: he should be pumped after last night!

Obama's plan may backfire since they didn't count on an ambassador being killed by Muslim terrorists.  The administrations handling of the attack has not been anything worth crowing about either.

Iraq is in shambles.  The doctor that helped locate bin Laden sits in a Pakistan jail after being abandoned by Obama.  The Arab Spring has resulted in more unrest than ever in the Mid East.   I could go on, but there is plenty of fodder for Romney to hand Obama his ass again.

Unemployment and jobs should have been the topic in debate 1. Number 2 and 3 should be on the economy, debt, foreign policy and who has the best plan for the next 4 years.

Brian Williams just handed last night to Mitt Romney.

Obama said some shit about Mitt Romney not wanting to be accountable for his actions.  Andrea Mitchell is busy fluffing Obama and giving excuses for why he stared at his shoes all night.

The problem is, you're stating facts. Those facts don't square with the lies that the MSM continually trumpets.

The lies being, of course, that Barry "got" bin Laden; that Europe now loves us again; and that the world is a safer place with the U.N. held in such high favor as it is.  :whatever:

That's key right there. Without the media running interference & assistance for Barry Soetoro Milhouse Hussein Obama and the sorry state of the US economy & Foreign affairs, there is no way in hell re-election should even be in the cards for The One. Daffy Duck could be running against him with a commanding lead.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Here's the Taiwan version of events, lovingly animated and subtitled for all the world to enjoy.  The scene with Mitt Romney, a chainsaw, and the cast of Sesame Street is really heartwarming and brought a tear or two to my eye.
