Probably the last poll, as we move into the peak of the presidential campaign, the debates, the elections, the holiday in which the primitives like to disparage those who made the ultimate sacrifice so the rest of us may live as well as we do, the War On Christmas, the holiday in which the primitives Hate their families, and the nominations for Top DUmmies of 2012, which begin the eve of the last-mentioned holiday.
December, when the Top DUmmies are described and debated, is traditionally the busiest month of the year for the DUmpster, but this year with the presidential election, October and November are likely to be not far behind in readership and commentary.
And so the annual question: is the DUmpster too mean to the primitives?
Despite their diminished cerebral capacities, their black hearts, their Hate-filled souls, the primitives are after all flesh-and-blood people with feelings and sensibilities. And decent and civilized people are commanded by God to love others, and to be compassionate towards those lesser than us.
That of course in a perfect world, and this is not--nor will it ever be--a perfect world.
The primitives seem their own worst enemies, in that the more they're given, the more they complain and want, if offered sweet gentle illumination they run away, and whenever the hand of friendship is offered them they bite it off.
I myself used to think more highly of the primitives than I do now; a grievous erosion in good will that happened because, to be honest, the primitives see themselves as loathesome and disgusting beings, and can't imagine anyone else would see any redeeming value in them.
In an imperfect world, how is it possible to not have contempt for, scorn, such people?
Once in a while, some of us get some guff from other decent and civilized people, who think we're being too mean to these despicable beings, and so we moderate, tone down, minimize, our publicly-expressed opinions of the primitives to where our comments are a pale shadow, a parody, of how we really feel.
This is franksolich's case, and I'm sure it's the case of some others here; to get along with our decent and civilized peers who think we're being mean, we temper our observations of the primitives almost to the point of praising the primitives rather than damning them. To get along, one goes along.
I'm kind of tired of being nice to the primitives; the chasm between what I say here and how I really feel, is enormous.
